We arrived and everything was ready for us to begin setting up and I appreciate you making yourself available if we needed anything. The Eureka retreat was the Perfect setting--matching the spirit of the wedding couple--Alex & Brian! We were all so happy to extend our time together, getting to know family and friends better. Being away from hectic distractions made a huge difference! Thanks again for great memories at Eureka!!
We just got married here and couldn't have asked for a more beautiful site. The community center and covered patio area offered everything we needed to enjoy spending time with friends and family in a well-equipped, clean cabin-like Center. The house is absolutely gorgeous, and peaceful beyond imagination. We watch the stars from the patio and our skylight in the master bedroom.we really appreciated the owner's involvement with helping us get set up and can't wait to come back for anniversary. Our guests kept telling us how peaceful, and beautiful this event was and actually got to stay for a couple of days with us making our wedding even more memorable.I would highly recommend it to anyone who wanted their family to stay in a beautiful home and in a remote hillside retreat. It was absolutely beautiful.
This was the most fabulous location for a wedding I could ever imagine! The house was absolutely beautiful, clean and eloquent down to every detail. The community center was a terrific place to gather with family and friends and prepare food in a warm cozy environment. You would have to see the beautiful wedding pictures to appreciate the true beauty of this property. Our friends and family were thrilled with the garden, covered patio, campsite, RV sites and how well kept everything was. Steve helped us tremendously, above and beyond what was expected and we just can't thank him enough. The entire four days were like a dream vacation.
The property is absolutely beautiful I had my wedding there. It was the perfect venue that allowed the space needed and privacy that I desired, except for the frequent drop in from the owner. The downside was that the property was not ready for us when we arrived. The garden house was a disaster! Moldy food in fridges, Muske laundry in washers, dirty toilets floors etc. ended up having to clean myself. Was compensated for the work that I had to do just still felt that it wasn't up to the standards that I would have expected. That being said I couldn't have found a more perfect and accommodating place to have my wedding.
We wanted a rustic, woodsy spot for our wedding…we came across Eureka Mountain Center on VRBO. We went to visit the property in snowy March and knew the potential it had come Fall. It was the first and last place we looked at to hold the wedding. It has it all! We had our ceremony on the stage, our reception at the garden house, and we stayed in the beautiful house. It was so nice to be able to stay at the property and take care of all of the things that needed to get done. We also had some friends who stayed in the canvas tents, others in camping tents, and others brought RVs. Steve was AMAZING! He was incredibly helpful in answering all our logistic questions and was a great resource for local businesses that we could tap in to for our wedding needs. Steve was present and involved and really made the whole experience go so smoothly, we couldn't have been happier. The property is beautiful, but unfortunately because we were so busy getting ready for everything we didn't get a chance to truly take it all in…so we will be back for a visit just to stay and relax there! I recommend that you stay there whether you are there with just your family or have a larger event, it was great!
Our family (6 adults and 3 kids) was lucky enough to land this place for a Christmas vacation. The house is quite unique and enjoyable. Steve supplied us with plenty of wood to keep the fire going. The location was fantastic! It snowed about a foot shortly after we arrived. The land allowed us to create a few sledding runs which entertained us all. We loved the privacy and nature. Steve is very easy going and was eager to make sure we were comfortable. It was a great stay!
We felt incredibly lucky to have "discovered" this unbelievable house. Located in a rural setting about 20 minutes from Sandpoint, this residence, which I can't bear to call a cabin, is remote enough to calm the nerves but close enough to ameneties to be conveniently located. It was the perfect spot for our long weekend getaway.
As soon as you walk in the front door you will notice how great this place is. The combination of wood, color and textures are some of the best I have ever seen. The design is really unique, with very spacious living spaces and a fully equipped, easy to use kitchen. Even in the middle of winter we were never even close to cold with the extremely efficient wood stove plus two other fireplaces with tons of wood at our disposal. And my personal favorite is the awesome hot tub, heated by wood, providing a very cool experience totally unlike your typical touch and go tubs you run into every day. My wife is more than a little bit nervrous that I will attempt to build one for myself.
Our host, Steve, who also built the house, was very welcoming. A really easy going guy who is eager to please and went out of his way to provide us with all the recommendations we could possibly need for activities and outings. We went cross country skiing across Gamlin Lake one day and took a long hike on a very well marked trail very close by on another. The restaurants he told us about were really good in Sandpoint and the drive to town by way of Bottle Bay Rd. was worth the price of admission. Steve also has a care-taker in place in case you run into any issues which was a really nice feature.
All in all a great winter experience for our family in Northern Idaho. We can't wait to go again this summer.
The property is literally surrounded by the largest lake in Idaho, Lake Pend Oreille, and accessable in three locations, including the lakes most spectacular beach, Green Bay, all with 15 minutes. Gamlin Lake recreational area is within walking distance of the property and offers both hiking and mountain biking.
