A great Berkshire getaway
We stayed at this property with our grown son and his girfriend. What a wonderful spot - very rustic, quiet and private but a quick ride into Great Barrington and to the surrounding towns. Also a very short walk to the Appalachian Trail which was a bonus for us and our dogs! The house was perfect for our group of 4, giving us each our own space. The kitchen and open living room were a lovely place to hang out and well equipped, so comfortable and peaceful we decided to stay put and cook several of our meals there. We were very happy with our stay and are already thinking of a return visit next summer.
Absolutely wonderful house
The house and property are absolutely lovely. The house is a true log cabin, full of charm and character - but is also really spacious and modern. Beautiful decor. Fully stocked kitchen. Lots of sleeping space, a basement full of toys for the kids, great outdoor sitting areas, fire pit, grill, lovely flowers in the yard. We went to Lake Garfield to swim, which is about 15 minutes drive away and is fun.
Great for families but not for more than two couples. Second “bedroom” is a loft open to living room. Third bedroom have twin beds.
Wonderful rustic but modern log cabin in a great area!
A group of friends and I visited Ana's cabin for New Years. We were pleasantly surprised by how nice the place is. It's clean, well-appointed and a great spot for a group of friends or family to stay. While the build is log cabin, it's loaded with modern amenities. The kitchen is well-stocked with modern appliances, a nice big fridge, stove, convection oven, microwave, Keurig, nutri-bullet, dishwasher, plenty of pots and pans, dishes, cups etc. The dining room has a large table, where we were able to have nice family style dinners with plenty of space for everyone.
We had 4 couples, and everyone had plenty of space to hang out and sleep. The finished basement has plenty of sleeping space, games and lots of stuff to do. The bedrooms were very comfy, had really nice sheets and everything was very clean. There are two full bathrooms, which came stocked with towels.
The main town is a 5-10 minute drive, and Butternut ski mountain is less than 5 minutes driving. So the location is amazing.
The only complaint was that some windows are a bit drafty in the main area by the dining room, so it was difficult to get the ground floor common area warm. We were, however, visiting at a time when it was in single-digit temperatures outside, so that may have just been a factor of the unusually cold temps that week. Luckily, there was a fireplace in that room, and plenty of space to hang out around it.
All in all, we loved the place and would love to stay again!
Cozy Family Getaway
Ana made everything incredibly easy for us.
During the day, we ventured into the adjacent towns, went snow-tubing at Butternut and at night, our kids and their cousins enjoyed the cold, brisk weather from the inside as they lit the fire in the fireplace, cooked, played chess, Monopoly and cards.
In summary: Cozy, comfortable, well-maintained, lovely owners, no-headaches, beautiful town, good restaurants, plenty of skiing! Loved and highly recommend it!
as from a movie
the log cabin was a dream! We loved the coziest fireplace areas, complete with blankets and curated book collections. We loved the big and wonderfully outfitted kitchen. Kids loved the playroom! An experience worth having! Amazing antique shops in the area!
