Stayed here for a long weekend for our daughter’s wedding. The house was exactly as advertised. Parents and grandparents stayed upstairs, younger couple in the downstairs apartment.
We didn’t do any major cooking. The kitchen looked to be well equipped; it was more than sufficient for the couple of breakfasts and lunches we prepared. The large table was a nice gathering area.
The host priovided some nice touches, such as fresh flowers on the table and some bottled water.
I would definitely recommend this house if you need a place to stay near UDel or Fairhill.
Great stay and super comfy home
My family came in town from Wyoming, Colorado and Las Vegas for my wedding and loved this home. 1 week in this house was very comfortable and accommodating to my family. My wedding was at the tea barn at fair hill about a mile away, so this was a perfect place for us all to get ready and leave without seeing each other before the ceremony. It was comfortable and very home like. We were able to BBQ and host a rehearsal dinner here even. Karen was very pleasant and quick to responding and helping us. The only issue we had was drying items in the dryer which Karen had mentioned upon arrival. Which was a bit frustrating being as we were short clean towels and they weren't dried fast enough with the dryer only working with a few items in them.
Other than that, no complaints !
If you're looking to share a place with the family and want separate entrances for privacy etc- this is perfect and still linked through the stairs. Separate apartment downstairs. Great room for parking several vehicles also!
So glad to hear that the house worked well for you. With regard to the dryer I think what happened is that both the washer and dryer need reasonably full loads in them to function properly. Sorry for any inconvenience!
The home was exactly as stated and pictured. Everything was clean and neat. The owner was a pleasure to deal with. Highly recommend.
Beautiful home and property.
This property was true to its description and matched the rave reviews of other quests. The main upstairs and downstairs apartment worked perfectly for our family.
My wife and my children, their spouses, their children and I stayed 6 days at this property. We truly enjoyed our stay! The property is well maintained, filled with amenities, located in a quiet neighborhood, with great neighbors. I highly recommend this property to families looking to escape the busy city. Everything from arrival to departure went as expected. I could have stayed longer! It was like being at home. If we return to the area for another vacation I would check the availability of this property first. The layout of the house is perfect for families. Everything about this property made this trip a huge success for our family. If you're trying to decide between a hotel and a home, think no more, this is far above staying at a high quality hotel. As someone who travels frequently this stay spoiled me. Now my first thought will be to rent a home. This was a great stay, a great property, and again I highly recommend this property if you are staying anywhere close to this area.
quiet country home
This is a very clean, very elegantly decorated home. Plenty of linens and towels for our family of 6; the kitchen was very well stocked with utensils, etc. The home is on a very private and nicely landscaped lot. Since we were busy with our son's wedding and all that entailed, we weren't able to enjoy the deck and yard with a fire pit, but it looked very nice! We rented the entire house, which suited our needs perfectly. My husband and I had the apartment downstairs, and our 4 adult children,(as well as one of their friends on one of the nights) had plenty of room upstairs.
The owner returned messages promptly and was very pleasant in all my interactions with her. I would definitely recommend this property to rent.
