The Salino Country House which has been renovated with expertise is to be found in the midst of the green hills of the Marche region, and situated in the county of Contro at about 3 km from Gualdo ( 650 metres above sea-level), a medieval town in the province of Macerata and part of the ‘Comunità Montana dei Monti Azzurri’ ( The Mountain Community of the Blue Mountains). The farmhouse, from which there is a beautiful view of the countryside, stands on a strip of land of approximately one hectare, on a hillside that runs gently down to the stream named ‘Salino’, from which the property takes it’s name. The construction, which provides every comfort, is composed of the farmhouse and an annex with a swimming pool, able to sleep 15 people in a mini apartment, a one-room flat and four rooms, as well as a communal living area composed of a polyvalent lounge, a dining-room and a kitchen. Also included are a large garden, a car park and an olive grove.
The characteristic medieval village of Gualdo, the borough where “Il Salino” is to be found, is 3 km. away and at 650 metres above sea-level, a part of the Monti Sibillini (the Sibillini Mountains) national park. In Gualdo are all the shops that sell the typical regional products; here there are sporting facilities such as tennis, 5-a-side soccer, skating, and bowling.
At only 9 km. from “Il Salino” is Sarnano, an important thermal resort with the nearby ski resort in Sassotetto. At the same distance there is the characteristic medieval and culturally active

Good for a large group

I stayed at this villa with 8 other people and it worked well as a home base for us as we traveled to Loro Piceno for a friend's wedding. Pros: There was plenty of space, a well-stocked industrial kitchen (and kitchenette in the side house), each bedroom had its own bathroom, pool was nice and overlooked an amazing view. Cons: The WiFi didn't work (though we were able to get moderate cell service there), the AC didn't seem to work (though it wasn't too hot and every room had fans), soap and toiletries were not provided. The beds were ok -- a little firm but not too bad. Also, not the property's fault, but you may want to bring insect repellant.

King of the Hill

We (13 people, 6 adults, 6 teenagers and one 3-year old) stayed at the Salino country house for two weeks in July 2020. We have rented holiday houses in Italy for over a dozen times in the last 20 years, but this has been one of our best experiences. The Marche area is very beautiful and there is a lot for us to discover after spending time in Tuscany and Umbria before. Beautiful beaches, amazing landscapes and it seems like on every mountain top there is another great old city to visit. The house is located on a hillside, in a very quiet area. Sitting on the porch or next to the swimming pool, you overlook the valley below and hills on the other side and really feel you are the "King of the hillside". The house itself is fully equipped as described on the website. There was plenty of space inside for all of us to eat and hang around, even though we only needed that space just once, on a rainy afternoon. The space outside is enormous and clearly that's where we spent most of our time. The landlord was really a big plus here both before and during our stay. Before the trip we had some doubts because of the COVID-19 situation but communication from her side was very clear and flexible. We also received a lot of information about the area and the house beforehand. Upon arrival we were taken on a tour through the house where all ins and outs were explained. During our stay the landlord (who lives in Gualdo, 10-15 minutes’ drive away from the house) was always available through Whatsapp for info on the house, restaurants, best beaches or other places to visit. We really had the feeling she wanted our holidays to be a success and because of that, and because of the great house and the amazing country that Italy is, we did have a great time. We would definitely consider coming back to the Salino country house and recommend it to our friends/family.

Beautiful place

It was a plasure to stay in Claudia's house - the house is comfortable enough, the garden and the pool are great and the view is breathtaking. There are also very nice small and quiet places like Gualdo, San Angelo, San Ginesio or Sarnano definitely worth to visit.

Casa bellissima, in un posto incantevole

Siamo stati ospiti del Salino a fine luglio, per una settimana. Eravamo tre famiglie con bambini dai 7 agli 11 anni. Ci siamo trovati benissimo e, soprattutto, ci siamo rilassati. Le case (sono due edifici, uno più grande, l'altro più piccolo) sono state ristrutturate con gusto, l'ampio giardino è tenuto molto bene e, soprattutto, la piscina è utilizzabile molto bene sia dagli adulti che dai bambini. La proprietaria è stata molto attenta e ci ha dato ottimi consigli su cosa andare a vedere nei dintorni. La casa è sulle colline marchigiane, con un bellissimo panorama e in una posizione piuttosto isolata, cosa che garantisce molta tranquillità, anche se in dieci minuti di macchina si arriva a Gualdo, dove si possono trovare tutti i negozi necessari per la spesa, oltre che a un bel mercato cittadino settimanale. Le Marche sono state davvero una bella scoperta. Cercheremo senz'altro di tornare al Salino per esplorare meglio i dintorni.

CASA DA SOGNO, BELLISSIMI PAESAGGI E QUIETE IMPAGABILE

Innanzi tutto ringrazio i proprietari per la simpatia, la disponibilità e la discrezione mostrate. La proprietà è veramente magnifica e dotata di tutti i confort necessari. Peccato la mancanza della connessione wi-fi (anche se non si è fatta troppo sentire considerata l'ubicazione della struttura, immersa nelle colline Marchigiane, le quali ispirano quiete e la propensione a lasciarsi la frenesia del quotidiano alle spalle). Abbiamo soggiornato per una settimana in due persone con il nostro amico a quattro zampe, e naturalmente la proprietà ha soddisfatto tutte le aspettative (ampio giardino completamente cintato e piscina stupenda tutta per noi). L'interno non ha bisogno di commenti - ristrutturazione pienamente azzeccata. Che dire poi del cielo notturno....una cascata di stelle. Consigliata vivamente, ci tornerei anche domani.

bellissima struttura immersa in un magnifico paesaggio

Abbiamo soggiornato in 4 persone, per una settimana, presso il casale "il salino" occupando parzialmente la struttura principale. La casa è spaziosa, sapientemente ristrutturata con materiali di pregio; le camere da letto spaziose ed ognuna con il proprio bagno. Notevole anche la piscina incastonata nel bellissimo giardino dal quale, la sera, si ammira un bellissimo cielo stellato. I vicini borghi di San Ginesio, Sarnano, il cristallino lago di Fiastra sono luoghi imperdibili. Ottima la cucina locale. Un ringraziamento ai proprietari Claudia e Mauro, persone squisite.

Al Salino Country House, abbiamo trascorso una fantastica vacanza per 2 settimane, in quattro famiglie ,in totale 8 adulti e 8 tra ragazzi e bambini, e' il luogo perfetto per rilassarsi, e star bene, la casa , le camere, la piscina , la cucina,tutto veramente perfetto , e' il luogo ideale per poter fare delle gite bellissime, i proprietari sono stati molto gentili, disponibili e discreti.ci torneremo. Wonderful Villa

We spent our holidays on June and it was a wonderful stayng. The Villa is perfect: confortable, spaciuos, allow to bo toghether and to have private spece, fully equipped. There's a big garden and a wonderful pool. The neighbors are very caractherstics: ancient village, green hill, ...very very suggestive. Claudia was a perfect host. We suggest Villa to everybody.

Abbiamo goduto della proprietà in 15 persone ( 7 adulti e 8 ragazzi ), ognuno ha goduto di comfort e privacy. Struttura bella , spaziosa e a prova di "maltempo" con spazi interni davvero notevoli. In caso di gruppo numeroso, preziosa la cucina industriale e il locale "colazione" che noi abbiamo utilizzato anche per il pranzo. Decisamente soddisfatti

Magnifica proprietà!

Luogo bellissimo in ottima posizione. Casa comoda, confortevole, arredata con gusto e corredata per tutte le necessità. Abbiamo trascorso una bella vacanza di due settimane in 8/10 persone, due bambini e due cani. Ognuno di noi ha potuto godere dei suoi spazi sia all'aperto che all'interno. Le camere, spaziose e ben attrezzate, con bagno privato; grandi spazi comuni all'interno dotati di ogni confort; cucina professionale attrezzata per poter cucinare per molte persone; grande portico con tavoli e sedie in abbondanza; giardino curato e una bellissima piscina con sdraio, lettini, ombrelloni. Tutto assolutamente come da descrizione e aspettative, forse di più!! Claudia, la proprietaria, è una persona gentilissima e affidabile. Non abbiamo avuto nessun problema e sarebbe bello ritornare!

Bellissima vacanza

L'agriturismo è esattamente come descritto, ogni stanza ha il proprio bagno, la cucina è professionale ed attrezzatissima, ci sono 2 ampie stanze per mangiare ed il giardino con piscina è ben curato. Noi eravamo un gruppo di più famiglie con diversi bambini ed è il posto ideale per rilassarsi e raggiungere facilmente i paesini medievali che ci sono nelle vicinanze. Siamo stati veramente bene.

Sehr preiswertes Haus in traumhafter Landschaft

Die Marken ...! Einfach wunderschön! Und gerade die Umgebung von Il Salino ist ein Traum! Dafür reichen fünf Sterne nicht, ich gebe sieben. Das Haus selber ist gut eingerichtet, sauber und gepflegt, die Vermieterin ist sehr freundlich, Buchung etc. hat prima geklappt (alles problemlos auf Englisch). Insgesamt waren wir sehr zufrieden. Allerdings gibt es ein paar Wermutstropfen (und deshalb nur vier Sterne): 1. Das Haus liegt direkt an einer Straße. Diese ist zwar wenig befahren, aber fast alle Autos, die vorbeikommen, fahren mit stark überhöhter Geschwindigkeit. Tagsüber kein Problem, aber nachts mit offenem Fenster zu schlafen ist völlig unmöglich. 2. Die "Profiküche" hat nur ein kleines Oberlicht und kein richtiges Fenster, man fühlt sich unwohl beim Kochen. Die Oberflächen aus Edelstahl sahen schon bei der Anreise schmuddelig aus und blieben auch so, trotz aller Putzbemühungen. 3. Überall gibt es viel Elektronik wie Lampen mit Zeitschaltuhren, die immer dann leuchten, wenn sie niemand braucht, oder die partout nicht anzuschalten sind, wenn man sie denn bräuchte. Mit dem Ergebnis, dass man abends draußen öfter im Dunkeln sitzt oder zu Kerzenlicht greifen muss. Die Technik ist einfach zu kompliziert für eine Ferienhaus. Trotz dieser kleinen Nachteile ist Il Salino empfehlenswert, denn abgesehen von der wunderbaren Landschaft ist das stärkste Argument für dieses Haus: der Preis! Vergleichbare Häuser kosten in der Regel nahezu das Doppelte (oder auch sehr viel mehr). So günstig wie in Il Salino haben wir noch nie gewohnt.

Highly recommended!!

The house it’s really cute! The location is absolutely wonderful! The house is finely and refined refinished, both inside and outside, there is a very useful professional kitchen well equiped with all you need to organize lunch or dinner also for large groups. Nice dining room and beautiful large living room. All the rooms are really comfortable and also the bathrooms are well designed. Everything new, all areas are well cared and clean. We spent there beautiful holidays, the owners are very nice people!! Great place,highly recommended!

Two weeks fantastic

We spent two weeks in the country house Il Salino. We were 4 families with young children. The house is exactly corresponding to the description, huge with all needed facilities. The professional kitchen is really a plus when several families are cooking. Moreover, the owner put some special attention to the details and the decoration what can not be really seen on the pictures. We really appreciate the structure of the house with huge commun spaces on the ground floor and individual rooms at the first floor. Each rooms had it's own bathroom and the owner also provided baby beds (cot beds) for the babies. Outside the swimming pool is not closed to the house. This is a real advantage for holiday with several families, because some can enjoy the swimming pool while others or babies are sleeping quietly.We were worried about the security of the swimming pool with young children, but the situation and the garden are so well done, that it is easy to keep young kids playing in other spaces. One other point that we really appreciated, all the windows in the rooms are equiped with mosquitos nets ! and in this area it is really needed ! The countryhouse is located in a green valley with very nice small villages all around, and the office of tourism are very active in summer and offer various shows, parties to discover the area. The house is also not far from the sea. Only one negative point from a friend who likes pratice running..... the house is located in the mountain... so everywhere you want to run it's highly climbing :-) Finally special congratulation to Claudia and Mauro the owners who were so friendly from the first contact by mail until our return back to home ! They are really nice people who are happy to give advices and are available anytime ! We also discover the culinary delights thanks to Romina and Fransceca ! To conclude, we would say that the house is a little paradise and the owner like "angels" for their guests !
