Cute and charming but with an upgraded, contemporary feel. Petite, stone-built, three-storey cottage with view from the living room window towards the beautiful River Sarthe. Originally a 14th century toll-house at the entrance to the riverside village of Avoise, this unique property is now an ideal holiday home for those seeking a quiet and relaxing break in this beautiful region. Please note that an extra charge of EUR 15 a week will be added for heating for the months of November through April.
Outer stone steps lead up to the entrance of the property (middle floor) and into the living and kitchen area. A spiral staircase leads up to the bedroom, shower and separate WC on the top floor. The ground floor has a separate outer entrance and is currently used as a utility room (washing machine, dryer) and bike storage (two bicycles are provided).
The bedroom has ancient ceiling beams and is equipped with a comfortable double bed, bedside tables, hanging cupboard, drawers and a washbasin. The shower cubicle and (separate) WC are en-suite.
The living / dining room has a two-seater sofa, arm-chair, coffee table, high-top dining table & chairs, dresser, DVD player, Bose speaker, Apple TV, and ceramic wall-mounted heater. There are large windows overlooking the access lane to the river. The compact kitchen facilities have recently been upgraded and include a cooktop, full oven, fridge with small freezer, Nespresso machine, toaster, and kettle.
Free unlimited wi-fi is available. All linens and towels are provided. You are a short 50 metre walk to the river leads to the grassy riverbank. Take the folding chairs and enjoy a waterfront picnic, fishing, a book, a bottle of wine...
Plenty of free parking just a few meters away from the house.
