Custom built, 2003, luxury Home features two levels of living without compromise

Please ask yourself: "Should I stay at a small, older type, cottage located on a postage stamp size lot or should I choose to stay at a beautiful, 2003 custom built, luxury, 8 room, well appointed year round home on a .62 acre waterfront lot with 2 large docks. Our Home is located on Lake Winnipesaukee.

Linen is provided when requested.

Swimming, boating, tubing, water skiing, wake boarding, scuba diving, sailing and fishing are just a few of the activities available in the Lakes Region.

Swimming from our dock our wading in is possible. (See swim raft photo). Some of the many other activities are table air hockey, DVD, Wii, Wi-Fi, board games and videos.

Children enjoy catching fish from the dock, paddling our two kayaks and floating on our swim tubes.

Alton Bay has craft fairs.

Hiking up Mount Major and taking family pictures with the lake in the background is very popular.

The cruise ship M/S Mount Washington leaves from Alton Bay on Sunday and Thursday.

Eating at restaurants where you can enjoy your favorite foods locally is possible.

The kitchen is well equipped with dishes, cooking utensils, glasses and containers.

One full bathroom is conveniently located between the master suite and the second bedroom and these are separated for additional privacy from the main living area by a pocket door.

Another full bathroom with a walk in shower is centrally available off of the kitchen.

The third full bathroom is located on the lower level.

There is a slider off of the dining area leading to an open deck overlooking the lake.

The main level kitchen features views, granite counter tops and birch cabinets.

The large center island food preparation/breakfast bar adds seating capacity.

Your family will appreciate dining while seated at a beautiful oak dining table when they experience the added pleasure of a western exposure, a panoramic waterfront view of the southern end of Alton Bay, the eastern slope of Alton Mountain and gorgeous sunsets.

The front-to-back living room with its field stone fireplace and wall to wall waterfront windows is a great place for the family to get together and share the moment.

The patio overlooking the lakefront is a great place to lounge and see what is happening on the water.

The granite counter tops, high ceilings and Andersen windows attest to the homes highest standards.

The tile flooring creates a dramatic look in the entrance foyer that opens to an expansive hardwood floored living room. Relax near the stone fireplace while viewing the watercraft activity through large waterfront windows.

The dining area, kitchen and breakfast area create a bright atmosphere.

The first floor master bedroom suite is a private retreat.

We love families. Children are always welcome.

Sleeps 12 maximum does not mean that there are twelve beds. Our queen size bed in bedroom # 1 can accommodate two people. Our double bed in bedroom # 3 can accommodate two people. Our bunk bed in bedroom # 2 can each accommodate three people (two on the bottom and one the top). Our two twin bed in bedroom # 2 can accommodate one person. Bedroom # 4 (located on the lower level) has the same sleeping arrangement as bedroom # 2.

Our open concept, waterfront, luxury home on Lake Winnipesaukee features a gas fireplace, a spacious kitchen and a dining area on the main level.

Our crib dock can accommodate up to a 24 foot boat including a 24 foot pontoon.

There are 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a kitchen with 2 refrigerators, a washer and dryer area, a living room with a fieldstone fireplace and a dining area on the main level.

There is also a living room, a dining room, a refrigerator and a bedroom on the walkout lower level. Note: There is no kitchen in the lower level living area.

There are ceiling fans in all of the main level rooms including the bedrooms.

There are lake and mountain views from every room.

The owner's boat which is stored on one slip of the two 8 feet wide by 32 feet long docks is used only when the home is not rented.

Bathers can use swim ladder, jump off of the dock or wade in.

Our waterfront lake bottom is sandy and has a gradual slope. Toddlers enjoy playing in the small sandy area between our two docks.

Enjoy your morning cup of coffee or dinner from the deck or patio. Watch the magnificent sunset reflect on the lake as it slowly disappears behind Saddleback Mountain and Mount Major.

Enjoy a game of driveway basketball, yard badminton or horseshoes.

Why this property?

Location - Location - Location. The days spent at our vacation home will leave you with a feeling of having enjoyed a rare time in your life on the shores of a remarkable lake with memories that you will cherish forever. Waterfront property on Lake Winnipesaukee similar to ours is nearly impossible to find. This property was acquired in 1945 by our family, when this part of the lake was first subdivided, and has remained in the family ever since. Our location offers easy commute, by boat or by car, to restaurants and major attractions. This magnificent waterfront has everything you need to help you get away from it all and relax. our Home is located on Lake Winnipesaukee. Note: In 2016, due to popular demand we have included the addition of the lower level that features a living room, a dining room with a refrigerator, a bed room

that sleeps 4 and a full bath. Everyone loves the incredible mountain and lake view and sliders leading to a large family oriented patio that this lower level has to offer. The lower level does not have a kitchen.

Linen is provided upon request. We have had guest that love the lake and our beautiful lake home so much during their initial stay that they have returned the following year.

What makes this house unique

The home, the lot and the location all contribute to making this rental an ideal family vacation rental. Older, well behaved, children love hanging out on the lower walkout level facing the waterfront. The bedroom has a twin bed that sleeps one and a bunk bed that sleeps three (Two on the bottom and one on the top). Note: the rental party, day guests and overnight guests must not exceed a total of 12 people including children at any one time. Our lake home is a single family home. It is not a condo. You will be the only occupants of this property during your stay. Waterfront owned means you have the private use of the property whenever you want to and your children will not have to cross a road to get to the water and you will not have to share the dock. Located in Alton means that you are always within a short travel distance to Major Tourist Attractions. Our home is located on the shore of Lake Winnipesaukee. It is centrally located in the lakes region and accessible to all of the popular tourist destinations. Alton Bay is on the southern end of the lake. From our home you can drive 30 minutes west and arrive at Weirs Beach and Funspot in Laconia or drive 1 hour and 15 minutes north and arrive in the White Mountains where you can shop in North Conway and tour the many mountainside attractions.

Hampton Beach, Water Country and the Kittery Trading Post are easterly approximately 1 hour away. While Boston Massachusetts is 1 hour and 45 minutes south.

Ellacoya State Park 11.72 miles away 19 minute located in Gilford is the southwest shore of Lake Winnipesaukee, New Hampshire's largest lake. Wolfeboro is only a few minutes away by boat or by automobile.

Gunstock Mountain Ski area is 12.33 miles away, a 20 minute drive and has the biggest zip tour in New England. Grocery shopping is only a couple of miles away from our lake home to Alton's Hannaford Supermarket.

We really enjoyed our stay!

From the moment we sent our first inquiry, Maurice was very quick to reply and helpful in answering our questions. Everything was as expected when we arrived and we were very pleased with the layout of the home and proximity to the lake. Having both floors available for use was helpful for our large family. There were many indoor games and activities that our kids loved, but the dock and other water activities were the highlight for everyone. There is a little shallow sandy area for small kids to play in. The aquaglide was fun for all ages. There were tubes, beach chairs, sand toys, kayaks and other fun things for our family to use. There are two outdoor tables with chairs for people to sit and enjoy the view. There was plenty of space inside for us to spread out. It was peaceful and quiet. We absolutely loved the location, the home, the grounds and being on the lake. We would definitely recommend this home to others! The only thing we would have done differently is to realize sooner that towels and linens are not provided. Many of us were flying to get to this home and hadn't factored that in to the packing.

Towels and linens are now provided for all of our guests. Packing for long distance travelers is no longer a problem. In fact, in September 2016, we had guests stay at our lake home who traveled all the way from China.

Regarding our stay at your lovely house.

We had a fantastic week, it was everything we anticipated and more, the house itself was great.

There was enough room for all of us, our teenagers loved the game room downstairs, and our 9 year old grandson was thrilled to play on "the beach".

The teenagers and grownups had fun with the kayaks and floating dock, they were either in the water or on it.

We liked the fact that the house was located near so many attractions and places to shop.

Our stay was most pleasurable, we appreciated your concern for our comfort and your personal interactions.

We would most certainly recommend vacationing at your rent home.

2015 Family Vacation

This was a very nice, relaxing, peaceful vacation. The owner was EXTREMELY quick to respond to all of our correspondence. The owner was more than accommodating to ensure all of our needs were met. Everyone had a great time, using the owner provided kayaks, tubes and other inflatables. The house had spectacular views and it was lovely waking up each morning and enjoying a cup of coffee while watching early morning boaters and jet skiers. It was a slow-paced week, away from the hustle and bustle of nearby tourist towns, though we did take advantage of driving to neighboring towns. My only suggestion would be putting a queen bed in the second bedroom and better lighting in the bedrooms.

A well-appointed house in a lovely setting

Our family enjoyed our visit. The owners were lovely and accommodating and did everything they could to enhance our stay. This house has every convenience you need for a comfortable vacation. The views of the lake are gorgeous. While the lake traffic was heavy on the weekend, it was very peaceful during the week and our children spent most of the week in the water. The house is proximate to many attractions and we took advantage of many of these including restaurants, pubs, arcades, shopping, cycling, golf, hiking, and movie theaters. We would recommend this house and would love to return!

Lake Winnipesaukee is pronounced /ˌwɪnɪpəˈsɔːki/ It is the largest lake in the state of New Hampshire. It is approximately 21 miles (34 km) long (northwest-southeast) and from 1 to 9 miles (1.6 to 14.5 km) wide (northeast-southwest), covering 69 square miles (179 km2)—71 square miles (184 km2) when Paugus Bay is included [1]—with a maximum depth of 212 feet (65 m). The lake contains at least 253 islands, half of which are less than a quarter-acre in size, and it is indented by several peninsulas, yielding a total shoreline of approximately 288 miles (463 km). All rentals are weekly (minimum 7 nights). Check-in is on Saturday at 3:00 p.m. Check-out is the following Saturday at 10: am. The weekly rental rate is $4,780.00/week for the peak (Summer) rental season that begins on the week of Saturday May 26, 2018 and ends on the week of Saturday September 8, 2018. Pre-season weekly rental weeks run from the week of April 7 to the week of May 19. The Post-season weekly rental weeks run from the week of Sep 8 to the week of October 6. The rental rate for the Pre-season and for the Post-season is $3,000.00/week. We require our guests to make 3 separate payments. The initial payment includes a deposit of $901.00 and a $59.00 Property Damage Protection Policy. Your week will be held for you as a tentative reservation pending that you make the total initial payment, mentioned above. The due date for the initial payment is within 6 working days after you receive a Payment Request and at which time you will receive a confirmation that your week is reserved. If you don’t make the total initial payment within that time frame, your tentative reservation will be discontinued and your week will be made available to other potential renters. Payment #2 is 50% of the remaining balance. The due date is on February 1, 2018. Payment # 3, your final payment is the remaining balance which is due 65 days before your arrival date If your arrival date is less than 65 days when we send you our Payment Request, the due dates for Payments #1, 2 and 3 will be adjusted accordingly. Note: credit card payments are made directly to HomeAway. Checks sent out by mail are made out to the "Maurice Couture and Ursula Couture Family Trust" and mailed to Maurice Couture, 10 Braemoor Woods Road, Unit 104, Salem, NH 03079. The $59 for the Property Damage Protection policy is paid directly by you to the Property Damage Protection Company. We will provide you with an attachment on how to apply for Property Damage Protection.
