About Deverell Pedersen, Property Administrator

The Kisers: Meadow Green Farm & Pamela Kiser Antiques

Owners John and Pam Kiser live on their beautiful 400 acre Meadow Green Farm, at the foot of Old Rag mountain, in Sperryville, VA, where they raise heritage pigs, laying hens and guinea fowl. They sell fresh pork products and eggs from Pamela's ornamental bird and chicken menagerie. The renovated 19th century barn onsite cottage are sourced from this collection.

Pamela is an avid antiques dealer, gardener and a sought after decorator. John, a former businessman, is currently a writer and pig farmer. One of his books, The Monks of Tibhirine, Faith Love and Terror in Algeria, was the basis for the Cannes Film Festival's award-winning film of 2010, "Of Gods and Men" - shown to great critical acclaim in the US.

Perfect location! Magical

  • 5 of 5

The Pendersen Cottage is a home not a vacation rental. We were immediately filled with a sense of comfort and relaxation when we were greeted by the house keeper upon arrival.

If you love antiques this is the house for you. The decor is very comfortable and filled with interesting items throughout the property. Space abounds both indoors and out.

The outside laundry and shower was a pleasure to return to after an afternoon at the beach. A 2 block walk to the beach and a short bike ride to the boardwalk provided constant entertainment for the week. Uber cab service ensured that we could enjoy an evening with beverages and arrive home safely without worry.

We are a family of parents with 2 adult children and none of us could have asked for a better week.

Thank you to the Pendersens for sharing their home. I highly recommend it to anyone who prefers charm and quite to fancy and flashy. Enjoyed every minute!

This place was very nice, but nowhere to put your personal items. We had to clean out the refrigerator of old food covered in plastic, indoor trash can was disgusting and the ants were unbelievable in the kitchen. we were told to call exterminator if this bothered us. why would that be up to us? but the biggest thing was that the owner stayed with friends across the street and watched every move we made. she kept sneaking into the back yard, showing up at the beach. we did not pay to be spied on. maybe because we didn't drive $50,000.00 vehicles because that was the norm for that neighborhood. No privacy what so ever with her constantly hanging around! In all of the years of renting vacation homes, have never had this happened. So if you want an extra visitor hanging around, this is the place for you.

Owner's Response: We deeply regret this travelers disappointment in her stay. We honor and respect all guests' privacy. This week was an unusual circumstance, as a dear friend and neighbor invited us to stay with them because our son had the opportunity attend a highly regarded local camp. We alerted the guests of our need to maintain the garden during their stay, due to the extremely hot and humid weather, to no objection. We apologize for any inconvenience or disappointment our presence caused them. We strive to provide a warm, welcoming atmosphere and we hope that they were able in some way to enjoy the beautiful beach.

Away from hustle and bustle!

  • 4 of 5

Very nice house. Super ammentities! Felt like home. Love the outdoor shower, use of washer, dryer. North end location away from the hustle and bustle, but only 2 blocks to beach. Off street parking. Loved the use of beach cart and chairs. Beach in that area not over crowded. Just a very short drive to stores.
