About the property

Thank you for your interest in our mountain vacation home.

Our home is 3 bedrooms and 2-1/2 bathrooms and is located only several minutes from the East Fork Gate. Our lot is wooded and sloping, however we have a flat driveway and have easy access into the house from the garage or front door. The master bedroom with a king size bed is located on the top floor and has a wonderful deck for relaxing and reading in the sun. There is a covered screened porch off of the living area which is perfect for those cool summer evenings or for those occasional rainy mountain days. Downstairs has two bedrooms, one with a queen bed and the other has twin beds.

We have a 55 inch LED TV upstairs, a 50 inch LED TV in the living area downstairs, and a 40 inch LED TV in the master bedroom. There is also an air hockey table for your enjoyment downstairs.

Summer leaves you feeling as if you are living in the treetops with all the birds and the occasional white squirrel. Winter time offers a view of the mountains in the distance and Lake Atagahi.

We offer all the bed linens and bath towels for your convenience. We also keep a great supply of most cooking spices, so there is no need to buy or bring any.

About Burt Tait

We live in Wilmington NC. We enjoy our getaway to the mountains to escape the sweltering dog days of summer at the beach. Owner is a NC licensed real estate broker.

Burt Tait purchased this house in 2014

Why Burt Tait chose Brevard

We fell in the love with Brevard the first time we visited. After months of searching we decided on Connestee Falls due to all the amenities that are offered. There are many times we do not even leave the neighborhood. We chose our house because of the cozy mountain feel it gives us.

Great Mountain Home

  • 5 of 5

We were evacuating from Hurricane Irma and decided to make it into a weeks vacation. We absolutely loved this home. Very easy to get to and such a pleasant weather change! The home is very clean, beautifully decorated, very well equipped with all you need. It was warm and inviting and I would recommend to anyone wanting a mountain getaway.

Beautiful mountain home in great community of Connastee Falls

  • 5 of 5

Loved everything about this home. It is warm, inviting, tastefully decorated in keeping with a mountain flavor, and generously stocked with everything you need. It is much more spacious that fotos depict. It has a master bedroom and bath plus half bath on the main floor, including screened porch, sun porch, living room with stone fireplace, large dining table and great kitchen.

Then downstairs there is another whole living area, large great room, 2 bedrooms, bathroom, laundry and air hockey table.

The house is surrounded by woods and since the property drops down in back you feel like you are high in the treetop canopy. You hear the breeze rustling in the trees and early morning birds. Just beautiful.

The home is very convenient to the East Fork gate as well as to the Country Club with many amenities like golf, pickle ball, tennis, a work out room and many social events. We call Connastee Falls summer camp for grown ups!

Finally ... you are 15 minutes from the charming small All American town of Brevard- AND- the Brevard Music Center which holds a summer long schedule of symphonies, concerts, operas, piano recitals.

Connastee has beautiful hiking trails ... but you are also 20 minutes from the Dupont Forest and Pisgah Forest. 45 minutes to Asheville. 30 minutes to Hendersonville or the Flat Rock Playhouse.

Pretty much perfect.

Fabulous rental

  • 5 of 5

My family had a wonderful time staying in this beautiful home. Everything you might need is available. We loved staying in the trees and sitting on the screened porches. The air hockey was a big hit with the children. Thank you to the owners for allowing us to use your lovely vacation home. We love the Brevard area.

Beautiful, clean, spacious!

  • 5 of 5

Our family of four had an unplanned vaca due hurricane Matthew and we thankfully lucked up on this home. It is located within a sizable gated community with lots of amenities and beautiful scenery. The house itself is enormous and the cleanest and best kept I've ever seen. We enjoyed the feel of a home with all the little things, and very much enjoyed sitting out back on the screened in deck. The only 'negative' is that cell service (Verizon is our carrier) is slim-to-nil so if you have to telework like my husband did you'll have to take the six mile trek to Brevard. Otherwise, we'd definitely stay there again!

Tree Top Haven

  • 5 of 5

We were a party of six from Virginia and Tennessee. All of us were amazed by the house and its contents. This includes one couple of the party who has travelled far and wide in the US and abroad! She kept saying, "I've never been in a rental house so well decorated and supplied.!"

Not only did the cabinets contain the spices mentioned in the website, but included other ingredients always needed where cooking goes on: cooking oils, dish and laundry detergents and dryer sheets, cake soap and hand wash in the baths. There were every kind of cooking utensils and a juicer on the counter along with a small counter top oven and a microwave over the stovetop. We were spoiled!

The setting for the house was quietly tucked in a forest which surrounded the house except for the front side which faced the road. It was quiet as could be and we loved seeing the humming birds that came to the lovely flowers and plants regularly. The screened porches and open deck in back provided wonderful quality outdoor seating.

The décor of the house was perfect for a natural setting in the woods. There was a continuity of art and objects pertaining to the woodsy atmosphere through the house. There were plenty of linens and mats for the dining table and helpful information on the parts of the area we could enjoy as guests in your home There were times when we couldn't all get online at the same time, but there was much to do to get us out of that "TECH" frame of mind. We would all highly recommend the house and its beautiful setting!

Mountain luxury in a 3900 acre gated community with 4 beautiful lakes, 18 hole championship golf course, tennis, hiking trials, heated seasonal swimming pool, and a clubhouse with 2 restaurants. We are less than 5 minutes to the clubhouse and Atagahi Park which offers swimming in the lake, sandy beach, picnic tables, children's playground, and restrooms. 13 miles of hiking trails are located throughout the neighborhood which offer beautiful mountain vistas, waterfalls, and historical ruins. The four lakes on the property are stocked for fishing by purchasing a fishing permit.

Connestee Falls is located 9 minutes from the charming town of Brevard NC which has wonderful shops and many delicious restaurants. Brevard is home to numerous festivals including the White Squirrel Festival, July 4th Festival, and Halloween Festival. There are also many annual music festivals and a concert series located at the world renowned Brevard Music Center.

Our mountain getaway is located in Transylvania County where over 45 percent of all land is protected by national and state forest and has the highest concentration of waterfalls in North America. Dupont State Forest which was used as a backdrop for the blockbuster movie The Hunger Games is located 10 minutes from the house. Caesars Head State Park, in SC, is also located 10 minutes from the house. Pisgah National Forest and Nantahala National Forest are both within 25 minutes of the house.

If shopping is more of your idea of fun, Brevard has many wonderful shops. Highlands NC is a one hour scenic drive. Cashiers and Asheville NC are each located 45 minutes away. Asheville is home to the Biltmore House which is the largest privately owned home in the US.

Brevard has been called the epicenter of trout fishing in the NC mountains. As a matter of fact, the Davidson River which is only 20 minutes away is almost always ranked in the top 100 rivers in the US by Trout Unlimited. There are several outfitters that will be happy to give you any fishing advise you need.
