Charming Countryside Villa with Pool near beaches and mountains

A unique and charming, totally restored, stone built detached house that contains many original and interesting features. Two bedrooms, each with a double bed. Second bedroom also has an additional single bed. Living room also has a sofa sleeper for two. The Main floor contains the kitchen with wood burning fireplace in the dining area. Adjacent to the dining area is the living room as well as a sitting room overlooking the pool and outdoor terrace with panoramic views.

The two bedrooms are up separate stairways. There is a spacious outdoor terrace off the main bedroom looking out to beautiful views of the Gran Sasso mountain range and the village of Castilenti.

Outside enjoy the beautiful countryside views from the large terrace alongside the swimming pool as well as a poolside barbeque. Escape to the heart of the Gran Sasso mountains in an hour. It is only 15 km to the beautiful beaches of the Adriatic Sea and approximately 1 hour to a dozen different ski resorts. Dozens of scenic hilltop villages within minutes and walking distance to the quaint village of Castilenti. Castilenti has a fabulous restaurant, a grocery, a bakery, a gelato shop, a pharmacy, a bank with an ATM and a gas station. A quiet countryside setting, yet with within 45 minutes to the airport in Pescara and two and a half hours from Rome.

Paradise in Rural Castilenti

Our favorite vacation of all time. Can’t say enough about this quaint country villa. You are surrounded by beauty. Where to begin: the breathtaking views, the olive trees, the food, the wine, the beautiful people of Castilenti, our incredible neighbors, Pasquale and Marie, who invited us into their home and sent us away with tomatoes and peppers and basil from their garden along with their liquid gold olive oil, the neighborhood dogs, Rodney and Balu, who visited our villa daily. Just a 40 minute drive to the Adriatic Sea, where we rented a lido at Lido Auroro (highly recommend) and less than two hours to the Grand Sasso Mountains. A very special thank you to our hosts, Steve and LaRue. Steve promptly responded to our emails and was an excellent source of places to visit. Don’t forget to visit the town of Penne and be sure to stop at Osteria De Leone for a meal. Highly recommend booking your next vacation at the villa.

Une charmante maison avec une piscine magnifique

La maison est très agréable et typique. L'environnement est très calme. La piscine est magnifique et très bien entretenue, la vue est magnifique. Nous avons apprécié la boîte à clés, très pratique pour une arrivée tardive. Toutes les fenêtres sont équipées de moustiquaires et c'est bien appréciable. Il a fait très chaud et heureusement qu'il y avait des ventilateurs dans les chambres.

Un séjour agréable

Nous avons passé un bon séjour, dans cette maison située en pleine montagne, au milieu des oliviers et proche du village de Castilenti, et donc des commodités. Quoi que bien équipée, l’air conditionné fait défaut dans les chambres, et nous n’avions pas d’évacuation pour le tuyau de vidange de la machine à laver, dont l’eau a inondé la salle de bain :). La piscine était très agréable pour se rafraîchir en période estivale, il manque néanmoins les transats (au moins 1..😂)

Il y a un tuyau de vidange pour la machine à laver sur le côté. Je suis désolé que vous ne l'ayez pas remarqué. Normalement, la maison en pierre reste fraîche grâce à des ventilateurs fournis dans chaque pièce, mais nous avons eu un temps inhabituellement chaud.

Ottima vacanza

Abbiamo trascorso due settimane in casa anatra e ci siamo trovati bene. La casa è spaziosa e accogliente, forse le scale che portano alle camere non sono molto comode… ma con un po’ di attenzione tutto è possibile. La posizione è a 30 minuti un po’ da tutto, anche se le strade sono tutte collinari con molte curve e tornati. L’unica pecca della casa è che non è chiusa completamente, nel senso che spesso in prossimità dell’ingresso abbiamo avuto cani e gatti delle abitazioni vicine. La piscina, anche se un po’ troppo profonda, ci ha permesso di rinfrescarci in giornate caldissime e ha reso piacevoli tutte le nostre giornate. Nell’insieme è stata una vacanza molto gradita. Grazie

Urlaub in Castilenti

Es war ein sehr schöner Urlaub in einem tollen Ferienhaus. Der Pool ist wunderschön unsere Kinder hatten sehr viel Spaß. Das Ferienhaus liegt wunderschön und idyllisch in Castilenti. Es ist wunderbar ruhig man hört eigentlich nur die Natur. Fußläufig in Castilenti ist eine Bar und auch ein Restaurant, was sehr zu empfehlen ist. In der Bar im Ort kann man leckere Cornetti´s bekommen unsere Kinder haben sie geliebt. Bis zum Meer ist es ca. 1/2h Autofahrt. Das W-Lan im Haus ist auch gut! Die Kommunikation mit dem Vermieter war auch sehrt gut! Der Pool wird 2x pro Woche durch einen Poolservice gereinigt!

Great place with fabulous views

Lovely place, manager did not meet us as we were advised but a quick call to owner and we found the keys. House was lovely, and fans had been provided plus all towels, toiletries etc. Wouldn't recommend to anyone with small children or elderly as the path to the veranda was very narrow between railings and pool, and also the railings were not that secure! Pool was fantastic and so lovely seeing as we had very hot weather. Lovely to be in the real Italy rather than a tourist spot. Fabulous views, and a very quiet area, handy for beach and mountains. Had a lovely welcome package in house and will definitely keep in mind to come back to again.

Our best stay in Abruzzo!

We loved Casa Anatra! Steve and LaRue’s home is so wonderfully decorated that it was a pleasure to be inside despite the constant draw of the outdoors….rare for our experience of home stays. The photos don't’ do justice to the wonders of their location…the beautiful countryside from the back deck (with a very welcoming well-maintained pool), spectacular views of the mountains from the first floor balcony…and views of Castilenti. It was a perfect location for visiting hillside villages and trips into the mountains, to enjoy views or to go walking and hiking…and walking into Castilenti, enjoying the coffee and great croissants at Bar Zhivago on the way…and great food and views at Palazzo Ducale . The drive to Green Land well worth it for excellent food as well. Our almost two week stay was so good that we extended for a day!

Séjour très agréable

Nous avons passé une semaine très agréable dans cette charmante maison située entre la mer et la montagne. Grâce à la piscine, nous avons pu nous rafraîchir les jours de grosse chaleur et profiter largement de la terrasse avec vue sur les champs et vignes environnantes.

Geweldige woning op prachtige locatie

Wij hebben als gezin met drie kinderen (leeftijd 10,16,18) een heerlijke week gehad. Het uitzicht is geweldig en het was heerlijk af te kunnen koelen in het zwembad. In de omgeving was het weinig toeristisch (wat wij prettig vinden) maar een ritje naar de kust was ook snel gemaakt. De mensen in de omgeving zijn zeer vriendelijk en je voelt je daar echt welkom. Wij zijn helemaal uitgerust! Voor pubers is er weinig te doen maar als je gewoon lekker met je gezin wilt zijn is dit een prachtige plek (met goede WiFi 😁)

Alloggio confortevole in piena campagna a 30 minuti dal mare. Totalmente corrispondente alle descrizioni fornite. Fantastica per 6 persone, un po' sacrificati in 7. Ringraziamo i proprietari per l'accoglienza ricevuta.

L’Abruzzo è sempre bello e le spiagge pulite e mai sovraffollate. Cibo buono e cordialità ovunque

Relax assicurato ma nel weekend i vicini delle case intorno iniziano i lavori di giardinaggio all’alba. Nel deck piscina, lungo il lato strada-casa del vicino, anche una semplice cannucciata sarebbe idonea per avere un po’ di privacy. Per il resto la casa è fantastica, fresca e funzionale oltre ad essere provvista di tutto. Non ultimo il ringraziamento per avere trovato una scorta iniziale d’ogni genere. La consiglio per chi cerca pace durante le vacanze.
