This lovely mountain lodge will make the perfect setting in winter or summer for your next family reunion, group get-together, golf trip, corporate function or wedding group with its 4000 square feet of luxury accommodations.

The chalet has a very large living area which is why it works so well for big gatherings, and with 7 large bedrooms, 6 queen beds, 16 twin beds and 4 full bathrooms – 22 people can sleep in individual beds or 28 people can sleep as a comfortable maximum. We also find the lodge is a popular choice for groups of 12-14 people who are looking for sleeping arrangements in private rooms.

The properties excellent location allows you to drive to the chalet – park your car and walk straight in (street level entry - no steps to contend with) then ski-out to the Hawk Six Pack Lift just 100 meters away. Ski right back for lunch or at the end of yet another fantastic days skiing!!

Because of its open plan, the kitchen/dining/lounge area works fantastically well for large groups. Our fully equipped kitchen is set up so that you can easily prepare meals for your entire group, the dining area has seating for 20 people at 3 tables. There are huge windows lining the living area with views over the ski slopes and Strathcona Provincial Park. There is a magnificent deck off of the main living area all set up for outdoor après-ski and alfresco dining with picnic tables and BBQ. We have a large secure heated ski/boot room which is ideal for all your ski/hiking/biking gear.

Other amenities include a separate TV room, lovely gas fireplace in the lounge, free Wi-Fi, ample parking for 6-9 vehicles, laundry facilities. In winter, there is a fantastic tobogganing hill right in front of the chalet, just bring your own sleds and you are all set to go.

We are originally from the UK and emmigrated to Canada in 1992 where we lived in Alberta for 10 years before moving out to the coast!

We have been renting the chalet since 2001 and did a major interior renovation in 2014. This is a very well maintained property and is furnished to a very high standard.

Loved our stay! Met all the needs of bringing our family together from the east and west coast of Canada in celebrating a family wedding. Lots of space, very well equipped and Sue was always readily available to answer any questions.

Great gathering place for family and friends

The Guesthouse was perfect for our wedding weekend!! We had our entire bridal party (bridesmaids and groomsmen) stay here all under one roof all weekend. It was perfect for having everyone together, but enough rooms that people had their own space. The place was equipped with everything you need! Having the two long tables made sure everyone had a seat for every meal. Comfortable beds. Would definitely rent again! Thanks for having us John and Sue :)

The house and area are nice, but not well managed

Unfortunately we were not told about the hot tub being removed and replaced with a picnic until after the final payment was made and it was late to try and find other accommodations. Also the nice big BBQ worked poorly, only one small area that had decent flame/heat. So a BBQ for 12 people was a challenge/near impossible. And on a lesser note the remotes for the tv did not work.

Owner's Response: This property no longer has a hot tub and once it was removed all our future guests who had bookings were advised. Thank you for letting us know about the BBQ and TV remote, they have now been fixed and are working properly. I am glad you mentioned the house and area are nice.

In winter you can drive right up to Mt Washington Guest House and then ski out onto the slope to catch the high speed 6 seater 'Hawk' chairlift, which is just outside our front door or to access the Nordic Lodge and the cross country ski trails.

In Summer, enjoy Mt. Washington Alpine Resort and the beach is only 30 minutes away! The entrance to Strathcona Provincial Park is right on our doorstep. You can enjoy a relaxed stroll on the unique boardwalk trails or take an adventurous hike. There are many marked trails through the forests and open meadows leading right up to pristine alpine lakes with views of Vancouver Island’s snow capped mountains.

From your Mount Washington vacation getaway you can go sightseeing in the Comox Valley or visit other nearby Vancouver Island destinations! The ocean and the Comox Valley are only a 30km/30 min drive and there are plenty of things for you to enjoy. Outdoor activities include boating, kayaking, sailing, fishing, golfing (at some really excellent golf courses), hiking, beach combing and swimming. Courtenay and Comox also offer excellent cultural entertainment with museums, art galleries, theatres and top notch restaurants.
