Hola Amigos is a great place to get away with close friends or family

The location is ideal for 4-5 families looking for a great time. Close access to the river, restaurants, shopping, and good old fashion fun relaxing outside at the pool and patio

Family Weekend.

Overall the place is clean and nice. We were able to find the place fairly easy. The rooms are a good size and I liked they all had bathrooms. We didn't like that the lawn was overgrown and the pool looked dirty.

We enjoyed hosting your group and appreciate your notes. We do strive for a 5-star stay for all of our guests and have several processes in place should a guest have an issue during their stay. I do not see any communication from your group during the stay regarding issues needing resolution. I have also looked back at our pre-arrival inspection notes and photographs and show the house in good order, the swimming pool crisp and clear, and the small lawn area belonging to the house in good order. We do encourage all guests to let us know of any issues and provide several different ways for them to communicate should they need to. There is a nearly 15-acre piece of property behind this house belonging to a landowner, that we do not have control over. Guests to this area of Texas typically expect there will be native landscape around them - it’s part of the charm of the Texas Hill Country - but we understand that it’s not for everyone, especially folks from densely populated urban areas. We do have homes in our portfolio in more traditional neighborhood settings for folks who still want to experience Concan but not necessarily the rustic feel of the area and invite you to explore those options for your next visit!

We had a good time, the place was very accommodating for our group! We had a plumbing issue which was a little inconvenient but it was resolved quickly.

OMG couples trip 2024!

A group of friends from high school (30 plus years ! ) and our spouses ! We loved our stay, had plenty of room and lots of laughs, porch sitting, animal watching , Frio floating( water was way down. But we enjoyed our day at Magers crossing relaxing in the river and taking in the beautiful sites! ) outdoor concerts at House and Pasture ,helicopter rides, evening walks and lots of pool time! We had a blast and will be back!

2023 Fourth of July

We loved the property and location. Perfect size for our group (5 couples)!! Only one refrigerator was a little challenging with the amount of people. Management very quick, pool needed cleaned the folks showed up same day within a couple hours. Back door needed fixed would not stay shut unless locked, management came on the holiday and fixed the problem. We were impressed with the service.

Annual Family/friends trip

Overall stay was a great experience. The house is beautiful and love the amount of beds and bathrooms. The view at night was amazing. The only thing drawback if any was the one fridge. Side by sides do not provide a lot of storage for 18 people. The freezer has no shelves making it a bit difficult to store food. Other than that we were so pleased with all thing Hola Amigos!

Just ok

This property was ok, but not one I would stay in again. First, it would take 2-3 days and several messages to get a response from the manager before our trip. The house was outdated and could definitely use a good cleaning (AC vent was caked with dust and blankets had not been washed recently). Several pieces of furniture were damaged enough to be unusable. It took with fridge over 36 hours to cool, even only putting cold items in it. The cabinet under the kitchen sink was broken and caused a safety hazard due to sharp edges. A workman was sent out when I requested, however he did not resolve the fridge or the cabinet issue. I will say that I did enjoy the layout of the home for a large group and with some updates it could be very nice. The pool was also very nice.

Good place

Everything was fine except for water leak in wall behind bathroom sink. Maintenance came and analyzed leak but didn’t fix it. The water leaked for remainder of our stay and the bathroom floor stood in water the rest of the time!!

Not bad experience and some suggestions for improvement

Overall it is not bad. The location is good, and it is very quite. Some suggestions: 1) None of the consumable items is provided, including coffee, sugar, salt, etc. I would typically take it for granted that those are provided, and if not, please indicate it in the listing. 2) Linens, toilet papers, towels, hand soap, etc. are not provided, and this info is not shown in the listing, nor in the main text of the email. There is a link in the email for “Recommended items to bring”, and if you click it, it will tell you to bring those. Such important info should be included in the listing itself and in the main body of the email, not only with a link of “Recommended items to bring”. Those are the items you have to bring. 3) Two bedrooms are separate and are not connected to the main building. It is not a problem, but such info could be included in the listing. 4) Kitchen shows the age and some hardwares need to be fixed.

Hey y'all! We're Brannon & Wendi Hightower, owner-operators of Frio River Resorts.

We met in college in 1995 and have been together ever since. Frio River Resorts was started by Brannon's parents nearly 20 years ago and it has been continuously Hightower-family-owned and operated the entire time, with us buying the business in 2018.

We're local and we live in Concan full-time and enjoy serving as stewards of our community with participation in local boards and volunteer organizations. You've likely seen us on River Road as you leave on Sunday supporting the Concan Volunteer Fire Department in our “Fill The Boot” fundraising campaigns, or out to eat at Neal's or House Pasture.
