Anavo Farm's Chic Sheep Retreat

De Anavo Farm Retreat ligt in het hart van het wijnland Santa Ynez in het rustige dorpje Ballard. Het is slechts een fietstocht naar Los Olivos en centraal in alles wat de vallei te bieden heeft, maar toch voelt het buiten de gebaande paden. Dit is een unieke gelegenheid om te verblijven in een "pinterest-waardig" gerenoveerd pension, met alleen het geluid van schapen, paarden en naburige hanen die in de verte kraaien. We were so impressed with everything at Anavo Farms. Jen has created such a beautiful space- I felt like I was walking through a storybook. They have everything you could need available. There is definitely no roughing it here! Her tips helped us have a wonderful stay. Feeding the animals while having morning coffee, wine by the fire pit, sunrise from the upstairs balcony. These are the memories we’ll take with us! Thank you, Jen. I hope to return soon!

Great location and a beautiful and peaceful area. The sunrises are incredible and the night sky is amazing. The accomodations are comfortable, spacious and private. It was a treat to feed the animals and go for walks just in the Ballard area. Thanks Jen!

I absolutely loved my stay at Anavo Farm. Beautiful farmhouse cottage on a beautiful property in a quiet neighborhood. Close to central Solvang and Los Olivos.Jen is a gracious host and is quick to respond to any needs or questions. And of course the animals! Such a joy to have some interaction with them.I would definitely stay here again if visiting Los Olivos again and highly recommend.

Anavo Farm is a magical place to stay. Not only is the rental immaculate and well-equipped, but the owners have paid attention to lots of important details. Unlike other rentals I have stayed in, Anavo Farm has comfortable furniture, lovely decor, free snacks and a bottle of wine--plus, they have all sorts of necessities in the bathroom that travelers might forget at home. The farm is idyllic and peaceful. We loved seeing (and feeding) the animals, the beautiful grounds, the foliage and blooming wisteria, plus we saw tons of cute little furry critters. Location was central to everything in the area and easy to access. Can't say enough about this place. Thanks, Jen for making your rental feel like a welcoming retreat.

Probably the best place, or at least to 5 in the last 25 years. Responsiveness was an A, location, the house was amazing, had everything possible we needed and more. The thoughtfulness was profound. My girlfriend is a professional designer and she was absolutely impressed.

We have stayed in VRBO's all over Europe (since 2000) and the US (since 1998) and Anavo Farm is one of our top 5 stays! We adored the peaceful, tranquil setting, the house was perfect for two, the animals came running for treats and Jen was the ideal host! The house had everything you could want - even some thoughtful treats to kickoff your stay. I took an online jeans making course from upstairs, looking out over the valley, the ancient oak trees, the animals wandering the field and barely paid attention to my lessons! A tasting at Brave & Maiden winery was outstanding, dinner at The Gathering Table was superb and Bob's Well Bread a delightful walk for breakfast (almost a mile one way). You'll leave wanting a return visit as soon as possible!

Wonderful get-away

Such a peaceful spot, yet close to all the valley restaurants and wineries. The best part, sitting on the deck with wine and seeing the animals, the mountains, and sunset.

Loved this place,especially the views from the upstairs & deck! Jen was very easy to communicate with & super simple check in. Lovely that we were given a bottle of wine, cheese, snacks & fresh eggs! So nice to hear running water from the fountains while you relax and enjoy the peace and quiet. You can even feed the animals and pick your own lavender ;-) Close to all surrounding towns and winery's, couldn't be better. Thank You Jen!

Amazing trip and destination!

We cannot say more good things about this property - location, charm, views, gorgeous sunsets, stargazing at night, Jen's kindness and hospitality, the animals - it was an absolutely perfect getaway. Very close to Solvang and wineries and grocery stores. Will definitely return in the fall for the grape picking season!

Los Olivos Christmas stay

Perfect place

We had the most fantastic stay at Jen’s guesthouse. It is even more beautiful than the images in the listing. We stayed here over the weekend when we got married in the area and the location, surroundings, the amenities Jen offers are truly unbeatable. We are already planning our next stay here. Great farmhouse stay

Really loved this converted three-car garage into a two-story apartment - the decor and farmhouse appointments were really nice and we loved the natural light and brightness on the upper level especially. Also liked the outdoor spaces and all the views were spectacular. Great location for wine tasting and close to Solvang and Los Olivos restaurants.

Beautiful and private wine country vacation home!

Anavo farm is amazing! The converted carriage house is beautifully transformed into a private cottage, and every detail to make our stay comfortable was attended to. This is truly a special place. I can not recommend Anavo Farm more highly. Jen was the perfect host. We will stay here again without a doubt.
