SMUGGLERS COTTAGE, family friendly, with pool in Looe
This converted farm building is close to Looe, Cornwall and can sleep four people in two bedrooms.
Smugglers Cottage is a delightful restored former farm building full of character and charm. The small yet historic former market town of Liskeard is just three miles away for daily provisions.
There are two bedrooms, one double and one bunk bedroom and a shower room with WC. The nautical themed living space with beamed ceilings is open plan and home to the kitchen, modern dining table and sitting area.
Outside, along with a private patio, are shared facilities between three other properties in the grounds and include a 40ft outdoor heated swimming pool, gardens and woodland. There is plenty of parking.
This is an ideal property for a family or for couples and friends seeking a peaceful rural setting whilst being close to the amazing attractions including Bodmin Moor.
Amenities: Central heating and electric panel heaters. Electric oven and hob, fridge, washer/dryer, TV, DVD, WiFi. Electricity inc. in rent. Bed linen and towels inc. in rent. Cot and high chair available. Off road parking. Enclosed patio with furniture. On-site facilities, shared swimming pool (seasonal), children's play area and meadow. Sorry no pets and no smoking. Shop/pub 3 miles. Notes: Step up into shower approx 25 cm.
Region: Cornwall's visitors are constantly tempted back to the beautiful coastline, tiny fishing villages, hidden coves and the world-class surfing. Whatever the reason, Cornwall has long cemented its place as one of Britain's premier holiday destinations.
Town: Looe is Cornwall’s second largest fishing port and hence there is always a lively maritime bustle around the quay area of East Looe, which is connected to the quieter West Looe by a seven arched 19th century bridge over the River Looe. You can also catch the river taxi between East and West Looe. East Looe has narrow cobbled streets, twisting alleyways and plenty of tourist shops, whilst West Looe has a lovely outlook across the harbour. Looe’s viewpoint, Banjo Pier, can be reached from the quay and is a great spot to watch the returning fishing trawlers and look across the bay to Looe Island, which can be walked to occasionally at very low tides. The sandy Looe beach adjoins the pier and is very popular with families because of its safe shallow swimming and vast expanse of sand. There is also a great rock pool area at Hannafore that children will love. West Looe has a discovery centre, and the delightful Kilminorth Woods have way marked walks through the majestic oak wood, rich in plant, insect and bird life. Apart from beachy activities in this part of south east Cornwall, there are many mining remains on Bodmin Moor and in the Tamar Valley, and much of the mining landscape has World Heritage status. This area of Cornwall has inspired writers, such as Daphne du Maurier and much of Bodmin Moor has inspired legends linked with King Arthur. There is much to explore in this beautiful part of Cornwall.
