About Samantha Bollen
I have lived in Skipton for nearly 30 years and love the town and surrounding Dales. Having worked as a nurse and midwife I gave up the profession to raise our 3 boys William, Edward and George. In 2008 after a long planning struggle I opened the Victorian wash house which is situated in our back garden , as an antique shop. Having traded for 9 good years I decided it was time for a change. Recognising that people love to stay in the town I decided to convert the building into a holiday let.
Samantha Bollen purchased this Cottage in 2008
Why Samantha Bollen chose Skipton
The property is unique within the town centre as it is unusually large for a Victorian terrace wash house. It has had a varied social history since 1855 and exudes charm with its flagged floor and trussed roof. I have tried to enhance these features in a quirky traditional way while providing the modern home comforts
What makes this Cottage unique
Its greatest benefit is its location right in the town centre in a mixed friendly terrace. As we live in the main property, we are on hand should you require us.

A hidden gem!!
Tucked away in the heart of Skipton fantastic stay in this delightful cottage. Nothing missed, extreme attention to detail made by Sarah. Will definitely be back.
Fantastic self contained apartment, it had everything we needed and a great town centre location
First class facilities and friendly owner
What a lovely little cottage this is. Beautifully and tastefully decorated, ideally located in a quaint little town. The place was spotless. I loved the little touch of having milk in the fridge already and some cookies on the counter when we arrived.
I had been worried from the photographs that it might be a little cold, however, I couldn't have been more wrong. I had a very cosy stay.
There's lots to see and do in the surrounding area and some lovely little pubs. When back in Skipton I will definitely stay here again and recommend to me friends also.
Thank you Samantha for a lovely break.
Perfect little cottage.
Exactly what we wanted, ideal for a couple. The location is spot-on and there is everything you might need for a short trip to Skipton. The bed was very comfortable and the heating was more then adequate for a chilly January stay.
A much appreciated welcome pack was waiting for us in the kitchen, along with tea and coffee.
Even though you are right on the street we were never troubled by noise. The kitchen was well equipped and there was decent storage for clothes, plenty of towels and extra blankets were available should you need them.
The cottage was clean and nicely furnished, plenty of natural light and multiple power points and lighting.
We would have no hesitation in recommending this property to anyone who would want to visit Skipton. It is a great base for the whole area. A great experience.
