This was a lovely cottage, which had everything required for a stay with dogs. The enclosed garden was a plus as it meant the dogs could be safely let out.I would highly recommend this cottage for couples or a family to enable you to explore the Peaks National Park.
The cottage was so lovely, homely, warm and inviting. The area is just stunning, absolutely loved it. If you are looking for a country get away then this is the place. The hosts were very accommodating, friendly and genuine nice people. Thankyou so much for a great few days
Lovely cottage situated around idyllic green fields, sheep etc. Comfortable, has all the essentials you could need, and close to lots of peak district walks and attractions such as matlock, bakewell etc. Our Family had a great time. Really nice and helpful owner. Overall great stay. Thank you!
A lovely week in the Peak District countryside in a small country village. The cottage was everything we wished for, centrally located between the larger towns that we visited over the week that we stayed. Wonderful hosts that made us welcome.
Just had a wonderful stay at this cottage. Nigel and family were so friendly and accommodating. We enjoyed the peace and quiet, but also enjoyed the owls hooting and cows mooing. It was perfect. We visited the brewery in the village and really enjoyed it. Lots of places to visit including Bakewell, Matlock, Buxton, Stepping Stones at River Dove.
warm cosy and inviting beautiful views in peaceful quietl location off beaten track but easy access to the beauty spots nearby loving cared for by excellant host
We had a really enjoyable stay and Nigel is a brilliant host. Everything that you need is in the property and Nigel is very helpful. The children loved the 'walled garden' and the dog loved the private field. Will definitely return..

Lovely old building in a fabulous location with everything we needed inside and enclosed garden outside plus use of the grass field behind for the dogs to walk and play in. Nigel the owner and all of his family there on the surrounding farm were very welcoming and friendly, good communications prior to arriving after booking, thank you for an enjoyable stay.
Wonderful stone converted coach house, very cosy, helpful owner, lots of bits and bobs in the cupboards, everything thought of, good sized rooms too… great facilities and a huge amount of logs and kindling supplied for the wood burner. Heating system worked brilliantly when we needed it as we were snowed in last two days. The perfect place to walk from direct, We found wonderful walks from our doorstep. Very peaceful and quiet setting. Highly recommended - thanks Nigel!
We had a really great time here. Going anywhere with 2 young boys is always a worry with how suitable it would be, but The Coach House was perfect. They absolutely loved the bunk beds and the play area outside. We had more than enough space for the 4 of us. The cottage was well equipped for us to self cater for the week and it was lovely and clean. The location is perfect for exploring the Peak District including Matlock and Matlock Bath which is where we would also go to the supermarket. Nigel was an excellent host and really made us feel very welcome as well as the great family next door. We had a great holiday and are looking forward to the returning in the future. Thank you!
We had a wonderful time at Nigel's cottage in Aldwark
A week in the October half term with our 2 boys, 10 and 12 and the dog.
Nigel and his family made us feel so welcome, loaded us up with firewood for the wood burner and gave us great tips for dog friendly walks
We had brilliant weather and did a couple of big hikes on the Peaks as well as just enjoying the cottage and the fields behind
Thank you Nigel, we will be back, Anna and Family
Property was as listed and had read several reviews . Perfect for 2 adults and our dog, fenced off garden so we relax knowing our dog was safe. Rural location but only 20 minutes or less to Buxton, 15 to ashbourne, matlock or bakewell. Several local pubs but check online opening times especially if you would like food.
Vrbo misled me about accommodation. Your photos were totally wrong They showed one double bed in the main bedroom and a smaller bed but when I arrived there was a bunk bed in a much smaller room with a small window, nothing like the photo. HadIseenthis on your website I would never have booked the property The owner removed the top bunk, which made lt more comfortable for me.
