Space 1,350 sq ft
Property type chalet
Minimum Stay 2 - 3 nights

About the property

ONLY $139 a night for 4 (add tax and fees)

This custom built craftsman style chalet is a 3 bedroom, two bath home. This home features wood accents and trim with birch floors, hickory cabinets, pine doors, ceilings and timber accents. The large deck is partially covered and is perfect for that evening BBQ. You will enjoy the new hot tub overlooking the lush green forest. Relax and sit by the gas fireplace and read a good book or enjoy a great movie. It’s not uncommon to see a herd of elk pass by on any given morning or evening.

In the winter we are only 15 miles to White Pass Ski Resort with over 2000 vertical feet of skiing on some of the best trails in the NW, best snow and best view of Mt Rainier anywhere!

In summer enjoy the outdoor deck, deck furnishings, hot tub and firepit and we do have air conditioning(it does get hot in July and August). Walk to town with shops, pubs and coffee shops or walk to the river.

You are only 7 miles from the Steven's Canyon entrance to Mt Rainier National Park. This is the least traveled entrance that yes does go up to famous Paradise with the new visitor center and the historic Paradise Inn. There are so many hikes, waterfalls, trails, lakes and wildlife to explore. Book with us and we can advise you with our 20 years experience of the area with recreational options and tips. And never be disappointed!

Guestbook comments from the owner

We were looking for a reasonably priced getaway for the weekend and we found the Alpine Chalet in Packwood. We loved the quality of this cabin and could not believe that we paid that rate for such a quality home. The woodwork, cabinets and decor all made us feel relaxed and peaceful. We walked to the Goat Rocks coffee shop in town, some of the best coffee ever...and muffins too! We hiked to Packwood Lake and the views of Mt Rainier were stunning. We highly recommend this home and Bob was so easy to work with. We already booked another stay for August!

Fantastic place to stay

  • 5 of 5

We stayed three nights for our annual sister's weekend. The place was perfect for the five of us. It was very clean and well equipped. The hot tub was a plus.

We even had a visit from four elk one morning. We would certainly stay at this house again.

Very nice location. Elk came into yard the first day we were there. Three nice bedrooms and 2 baths

  • 4 of 5

The only downsides were an air conditioner that was inadequate for hot weather and old teflon pans that were badly scratched so unusable.

Clean, quiet, comfy, and convenient

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed our stay at the Alpine Chalet in Packwood. Convenient location just off the main drag. Very quiet. Great amenities. The AC was a lifesaver during a 90+ degree weekend.

Very clean and comfortable house!

  • 5 of 5

Upon opening the front door you can tell this is a very nice home. Very comfortable beds and plenty of seating in the living room and out on the deck. Did not use the hot tub so cannot review that. Owners were very fast to answer questions and very polite. Definitely would stay here again.

Great Memories With The Family Memorial Day Weekend 2018

  • 5 of 5

This chalet was beautiful. We thought it was clean and well kept. Nicely furnished. It even came with elk out back. What more could you ask for. We enjoyed the Flea Market, hiking to Packwood Lake, driving down to where Jodys bridge got washed out on Cowlitz River and fishing at Dog Lake up on White Pass. Then we had barbecues and the hot tub and campfires with smores. It was a great weekend with family. Thank You Kathie
