The Regatta: A boat race between galleons, boats with eight oars built to the design of the XII century by Alvio Vaglini and launched on the 9th of June 1956, on the Riva dei Giardini Reali The event which is held on the first Sunday in June, takes place in two important and complementary parts, the opening with a majestic Historical Procession, followed by the Regatta of the Galleons . The four boats are 11 metres long and weigh 760 kg. each, they have eight oarsmen on fixed seats and a Cox who stands in the stern, they are decorated with the flags of the Republics. The race takes place over a distance of 2000 metres in a straight line, on the sea at Amalfi and Genoa, in the lagoon at Venice, and on the river Arno at Pisa. The race at Amalfi starts in the roads off the beach at S.Croce and then parallel to the coast until the finish line in front of Marina Grande . The procession is made up of four hundred people who wear precious medieval costumes, faithful reproductions of the antique apparel. Each of the groups interprets a precise historical episode and recall the main characters in the glorious history of their own city, in a splendid chorography of Standard bearers, trumpets, drums and arms .

Amalfi is located in the center of the Amalfi Coast and all buses leave from here to reach the 13 villages of the Amalfi Coast (Ravello, Scala, Atrani, Minori, Maiori, Cetara, Erchie, Vietri sul Mare, Conca dei Marini, Furore, Praiano and Positano). The whole building consists of 4 floors with 4 independent apartments rentable plus the owner house located at the forth floor. From the garden it possible to reach a fifth property still beautiful and rentable with its own outdoor space All apartments are equipped with: Air conditioning in the rooms (not vailable in casa dipinta), wi~fi, fully equipped kitchen (with oven, dishwasher, refrigerator, microwave, cookware, dishes, cutlery, accessories and washing machine). TV is not available Casa Mondrian is an apartment situated on the first floor and housed in the premises of the old charcoal preserving its vault. The villa can be accessed via two entrances: one on the main road using the elevator and the second situated at the top on the property, which opens onto a pedestrian street. PARKING: the house does not have private parking but it is possible to park the car in a parking lot located a few meters away which costs 20,00/ 30,00 per day A few miles from the property there is a beautiful and large public swimming pool. It is suitable for babies up 8 months An historic villa in Amalfi which is detailed in the famous book on the Costiera Amalfitana ~ entitled Costa delle Sirene published in 1867. In Amalfi, the people refer to the villa as the "Palace" and was purchased in 1943 by the Marquis Francesco Mottola of Amato. Renovated by the heirs which sought to emphasize the architectural beauty of the villa, the airiness of the rooms, and to delight the senses by planning an exquisite garden. In 2004 the villa was declared a "monument of national interest" by the Ministry of Culture. It stands on the western side of Amalfi, along the road to Positano, immediately after the luxurious Hotel Santa Caterina. It has a privileged location with a feast of astounding views. The villa is situated at about 500 meters from the beautiful beach of Duoglio (Lido degli Artisti), which can be accessed via a spectacular descent of steps or by one of many boats that leave from the harbor (10/15 minutes walk from the Villa). The villa is equipped with all modern comforts, yet retains its elegant aristocratic character, including the fascinating cave that gives access to the elevator. The spacious interiors and the striking views of the apartments can be enjoyed in all seasons.
