Our tipi is named "Soaring Eagle Lodge" for the Bald Eagles that come to build their nests and raise their young in the tall pines near by. The teepee sits above our stocked pond "Willow Pond" and is just a moments walk away with a picnic table and 4 chairs for you to sit and listen to the whippoorwills. Our teepee is eco friendly and off the grid. A lighted pathway leads you to your private porta john & outdoor shower. Stroll down the trails that lead to the forest, beside Big Cedar Creek. The Winding Stair Mountain Range is literally in our backyard! Our 5.5 acre property is bordered by the forest on 3 sides, which allows you access to over 10,000 acres for hunting, hiking, climbing, riding, fishing, kayaking in the Kiamichi River, gold panning, bird watching and exploring nature etc.
Our Tipi is available year round. Message for availability, due to being listed on many travel, tourism, vacation rental sites. Firewood is included in tipi nightly rental. Great for families or couples. Your friends can also pitch a tent next to the tipi if they wish, our tent camping fees are only $8 for two people.
The Ouachita National Forest is rich in history and full of offbeat character. The rough-hewn charm of the forest transports campers to another world, where the pines have a magical way of restoring the soul, sending guests home refreshed and renewed. Drive our famous Talimena Scenic Byway (Hwy 1), our nation's very first scenic road. Stop at the scenic lookouts to view the mountain canyons and ice age formations from up high!
