Electric Vehicle Charging Point. Private parking for 2 cars. No smoking. Wheelchair access. Please note: There are 3 steps to the garden (ramp available).. With views over rolling countryside, this detached holiday chalet sits within an idyllic spot in the Exe Valley, close to the owner’s home, and set within 1¼ acres. The area is fabulous for walking, cycling and bird watching, with Exmoor close by with wonderful scenery and dramatic coastlines. Exeter and Taunton are a short drive offering shops, theatres and restaurants, or visit the beaches of North Devon and even the Jurassic Coast. There are several National Trust properties and gardens in the area, including Knightshayes Court and grounds. Shop, pub and restaurant 3 miles.

The cottage was perfect, but not perfect for me, I have mobility issues and I found the laminate flooring in all the rooms, very akward. The only small criticism I can make is there were no rugs anywhere in the cottage, the bathroom was particularly dodgy for me. I think it should be advertised as unsuitable for people with mobility problems. Mike and Sarah are perfect hosts, it is a shame that I could not cope with the wooden flooring. The cottage is very much a rural idyll.

The cottage is very much a rural idyll. For those wanting to get away from the hustle and bustle of city/town life, then this is the place to stay. The Challette at Timbertops is about 4 miles outside of Tiverton, much of which is along a narrow country lane. On arrival you discover a modern detached cottage with its own secure garden. Inside was a delight with every luxury you could imagine. We stayed in October and the heating system worked well ( in fact sometimes it got too warm ). The cottage is more than big enough for 4, either 2 adults + 2 children or 4 adults. In the summer months there is a covered patio with garden chairs. We found Sarah and Mike very friendly and welcoming , there when you needed them, but left you alone when you didn't. All in all we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend it to those wanting a peaceful holiday. Review independently collected and verified by Reevoo

Absolute gem, everything you could ever wish for.

Absolute gem, everything you could ever wish for. Wonderful hosts, charming location and lovely, clean and welcoming property. All on one level so ideal for physically challenged. Enclosed garden area at front great for children who can enjoy the chickens and duck. We were also fortunate to see wild deer early one morning. We received a lovely warm welcome from Mike and Sarah. There are beautiful views across the valley from the front aspect of Timbertops and private outside seating area’s to enjoy them. The interior was very comfortable and well appointed for a rental. It was ideal for our day trip orientated holiday but would be perfect for sitting outside in warm weather with privacy and a wonderful vista. Also very peaceful. Sarah and Mike were warm and generous hosts and we were touched by some of the personal gestures such as treats awaiting the kids on arrival and a gift of newly laid eggs as we left. It was nice to get away from the tyranny of mobile phones and internet (there is limited mobile service in this part of Devon), although any guests needing wifi might struggle with the repeater set up. The house was impressively clean, very well equipped, had an extensive garden for the children to run around in and had beautiful views in multiple directions. Its location in the centre of Devon means it is well situated to explore Exmoor, Dartmore and coasts north and south. I would recommend it to a family with young children. A perfect family holiday location including the furry one, with many great attractions an hours drive or less away. 5 minute drive to Tiverton for any essentials you might need.

We couldn't fault Challette at timber top. Sarah and Mick were there to greet us and made us feel right at home.We had a lovely week and the weather was good to us. Ziva my German Sheppard didn't want to leave on the Saturday morning and sat in the Paddock and we had to drag her into the car. We will be back some time soon. Pearl

Lovely comfortable cottage. Property larger than expected, internet photos do not do it justice. Everything we needed was supplied. Weather was bad so we even had to use the washing machine and tumble dryer for the wet and dirty dang towels. There was plenty to do in the area despite the rain. Made to feel very welcome by Mike and Sarah. Would be happy to make a return visit.

Sarah and Mike were absolutely wonderful. In my travels I have met very good hosts but Sarah and Mike are among the top. They made our stay extra special. Words can hardly do justice to the beauty of Timbertops. A true home away from home in terms of amenities. There was everything we needed. We hope to be back and I pray soon.

Fantastic little holiday house.

Fantastic little holiday house. Very well equiped and clean. The owners Mike & Sarah were lovely. They couldn’t of been more helpful. Dog friendly and theres a garden for you to use too, which is all enclosed so can let the kids and dog run around. How highly recommend. Thanks for a great holiday.
