Best Trip Ever!
My daughter and I stayed the weekend of Breyer Fest. A HUGE thank you to Steve and his daughter Whitney for their hospitality and recommendations. The horses on their beautiful farm were definately a highlight for my daughter. She said it was the best place she has ever stayed in her life! They welcomed us like family. We will be back very soon if it is up to one little girl! Can’t thank you all enough for a lovely stay.
We enjoyed sharing our Breyerfest stories with you. We will hope your back next year.
Peaceful and private
My daughter and I stayed for 5 days while attending a horse show at the horse park. Nicely appointed and clean. Great host
This cottage on a horse farm was just perfect for us. Everything was clean, the owners were wonderful and very accommodating, and the location was great. I also loved that I could walk right outside and pet the horses! I highly recommend this VRBO - and we will definitely be back!
Heaven in Horse Country!
The Bicknell's cottage on a working horse farm was one of the most memorable vacations I have ever had and it made my return to Lexington and Keeneland perfect (I last visited when I was a child with my parents.) The cottage is the perfect size, kitchen has everything you could need, the grounds on the farm are idyllic, even the geese and bullfrogs at the pond. I wish I had brought a plant book to identify the trees and flowering shrubs on the property, but suffice it to say, a master gardener must have been involved. The Bicknell family is doing great things with their smaller scale equine business and it was interesting to see how they are doing things superbly in a small way. I have not had a vacation in quite some time and this was the perfect retreat for my companion, my dog Rosco and me. Waking up to walk the dog around the farm and being able to pet and love on the horses while I did it was just what I needed. The farm cat is most formidable and he and my dog formed a relationship based on mutual respect. I would certainly consider coming back and staying longer, the farm was convenient to all the Lexington points of interest.
Spotless, quiet suite on a beautiful property with easy access to downtown Lexington & I-75
Just returned from a very enjoyable 7-day stay in this cottage located NE of Lexington as Paris Pike heads out into the famous thoroughbred properties of Kentucky. The kitchen is well equipped; the cottage is decorated in a comfy lodge style. My hosts were most-welcoming and kind - providing lots of helpful information. I will definitely stay here again on my next visit to Lexington.
After much research of finding a location to stay while in Lexington for my son’s wedding, I kept coming back to this cottage. I am so glad that I did. Perfect!
The location was easy to find and the farm was beautiful and so peaceful.
I had to get used to the u-turns, getting in and out, depending on direction going, but then found that to be fun.
Steve was very kind and welcoming. To watch the horses in the field was very nice. My two sons and the other groomsmen were able to get ready at the cottage before the wedding at The Thoroughbred Center, two miles away, and they loved it, too. Again, just perfect for time away and from the craziness that life brings.
The only thing I would do different or recommend is to bring an Apple TV controller or HDMI cable (I think that is what my son said I needed) to connect to your phone so I could watch movies, as there is no cable, just basic stations.
Then there is this, I had to leave.
Thank You Steve and Family for having this cottage available. I hope to be back.
God’s Blessings! Karen Angel
