"Sandy Corner" is a charming Cottage in one of the best locations at Avoca Beach on the Central Coast, a short drive north of Sydney. Feel the sand on your feet directly across from the cottage. Relax by the lake with a glass of wine. Take a short one minute walk to shops, cafe's, restaurants and boutique shops to pass a lazy afternoon. This romantic little cottage just oozes charm and makes for an easy car free holiday break.

About 'Sandy Corner'

The name comes from the location. The cottage sits right on the corner where the lake meets the beach and is positioned to look towards the Terrigal headland.The cottage has just finished a major renovation and now has a huge glass stack-a-door that opens the whole front of the cottage towards the beach and lake.

The Lounge / Kitchen Area:

There is an L-Shape lounge (also converts to a bed) and a large smart TV for watching movies, sport or afternoon reality TV. The TV is a smart TV so guests can sign into their Netflix or Stan accounts to stream movies or content using the high speed internet onsite. For those staying in the cooler months there is a gas log fireplace to create warmth and ambiance at the press of a button. The kitchen is basic but has all the functionality to do home cooking. There is an induction cook-top, portable bench oven, microwave, Nespresso Machine, (With unlimited pods) fridge and all cooking utensils. Louver windows allow the sea breeze and sounds of the ocean into the cottage making a tranquil and ambient setting.

The Main Bedroom:

Fitted out with a king size bed with luxurious pillow-top mattress, premium Sheridan linen and lots of pillows. The king size bed can also be separated into two king single beds if required. All linen is provided & included in your stay so just turn up! There is also a flat screen TV in the bedroom along with lamps and Bose mini-system. The bedroom has bi-fold doors that open up towards the beach and lake or can be left closed for privacy.

The Bathroom:

This has been renovated recently and consists of a shower, toilet, basin and all towels / soaps, shampoo's etc. It;s neat, tidy, clean and functional.

The Outdoor Area:

The front of the cottage has a small yard with beautifully kept gardens, lush green grass and a white picket fence. There are two kayaks on site which can be used by guests on request. BBQ and utensils are on site for those summer afternoon fun with family or friends.

Overall:

'Sandy Corner' is a perfectly located, well thought through holiday cottage to relax, sample the local foods, have a swim / paddle and recharge.

A perfect position for beach walks and local food shops all in walking distance.

The lounge and carpet were very stained and we were a bit disappointed with the cupboard shelves that were in need of repair the bed was very comfortable and apart from this we enjoyed our stay the issues mentioned could be easily fixed.

Bad neighbours

Although the property was nice and mark accommodating the stay was spoilt by the couple next door I had made arrangements to bring my well behaved small dog , paid extra for cleaning - although he doesn’t shed I was happy to do this Arrive and are met by male neighbour greeting us with.. You can’t have a dog here ! After explaining it was approved by the owner he seemed ok Next day - wife arrives.. same thing. To make matters worse she yelled twice at my daughters about him. Also telling us not to leave our swimming costume or towels outside.. wow! Not a great start. Following this they both entered the property front garden daily Putting up mesh over the garden, watering, hedging, mowing This spoilt our stay, there was no privacy You’d wake up in the morning and they’d be in the front garden. Consequently we left a day early Not an ideal relaxing stay. Such a shame

Great little place.

We had a great stay at Sandy Corner, the location was perfect for beach access and a very short walk to restaurants. The lake side was perfect for young kids if waves are too big. Would have been 5 stars if the blinds were darker as it became bright as soon as the sun come up.

When a weekend isn't enough...

Sandy Corner cottage had all the charm and comforts expected for a restful and relaxing weekend by the beach. The owner has gone to great lengths to ensure nothing has been overlooked. We especially appreciated the refreshments provided in the fridge on our arrival. The location was superb and we took advantage of everything Avoca Beach had to offer. It was hard to leave but we will return for a longer stay next time!

My wife Hannah and I are absolute beach lovers and hold a special place in our hearts for the central coast and Avoca Beach in particular. We have tried to create a special and relaxed space for others to enjoy a romantic weekend or week away from the busy city life.

We love the beach walks, the rock pools and the local restaurants and boutique shops that all ooze charm and that country beach style feel.

Why they chose this property

Avoca Beach is relaxed, the people are all friendly and the weather is usually just perfect. The location just one hour north of Sydney makes Avoca Beach easy to access and not a chore to get to and from. We love the local restaurants and the most amazing beach on the Central coast. There is children safe areas to swim, a patrolled beach as well as great waves for those that love to surf.

What makes this property unique

Sandy Corner has an unbeatable position. Our little slice of the central coast sits right on the corner of the lake where it meets the ocean. It is also only a 50 meter walk to the main cafe and shopping strip. Our guests love that you can drive to the cottage, park the car and not need to drive again until they leave to head home.
