Neat little eccentric house close to downtown was perfect for our ski weekend

A great Family group, one member, who currently serves in the army, drove all the way from Viginia- with her dog. The weather was beautiful, lots of snow and they all enjoyed 5 days of skiing at our nearby great ski resorts. It was a nice, memorable ski outing and vacation for them.
The place was clean and very comfortable for our stay. A little different walking in and out through the bedroom.Al was very nice, quick to respond to all my emails and text! Super host!

There are actually 2 entrances , one to a side room by the kitchen and one on to a large deck that leads into the utility and laundry room which leads into a bedroom.
The house was spacious and clean. The host was incredibly kind and helpful; he even gave us polished Petoskey stones and custom made a necklace for my mother. We had an excellent vacation!
Al, the host, is definitely what makes the stay memorable. He is a very sweet, talented, and generous man. The home itself was very comfortable for my husband and me, and our two dogs. The kitchen and living area were a good size, and there are four bedrooms! The home is close enough to the downtown area to walk to the shops and restaurants, and the waterfront is just beyond that. Great place for a small group like ours or a whole family!

Very nice Family group, they really enjoyed their stay in Petoskey.
Cozy home. Spacious and clean. Interesting layout as built by the owner. Polished Petoskey stones set out as a gift for us. Easy check-in and out. Thanks Al!
Owner was responsive. House was clean, had all that we needed in the kitchen, linens, etc.Went for a softball tournament, so really only needed a place to sleep. Loved being able to bring our dogs. Location was close to downtown.
Great location, price, pet friendly and response of host. Had a lot of room to move around. Our only downside was the shower pressure. It seems to still be a work in progress but overall they rocked it out for us. We are low key kinda people so overall give it a 4 out of 5 stars.

Samantha's group was wonderful. They enjoyed our lovely home and took day trips all around the area. They came from Kentucky and said that they wanted to come back up and stay , soon.
The layout was a bit quirky, but the house was comfortable and warm. Kitchen counter space was small, but there were two tables to help with prep and all the appliances worked great. Two of the four bedrooms had no closet or dresser space, but the beds were comfortable and there were plenty of blankets and quilts. The main bath is off one of the bedrooms, but the tub and shower worked and there were plenty of towels. The half bath is behind the kitchen and all the plumbing worked well. The house is nicely decorated and the host provided polished Petoskey stones to take home. Al was very welcoming (although we only saw him once when he came by outside to pick up the mail). I accidentally left a cookie tin behind and he kindly agreed to hold it for me until I can return and retrieve it. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in his home.
Nice quiet location, walkable to downtown. Plenty of space with cozy atmosphere.

Liked: Cleanliness, check-in, communication
Disliked: Location, listing accuracy
We did not stay there, we got there, saw the houses around this house and felt unsafe. The aesthetic of the house was not acceptable to us. The house was clean on the inside but dark. We walked through the house and left, knowing we were forgoing our money. We ended up staying in a pet friendly motel.

Very inaccurate- obviously paranoid big city runaways. We have owned and lived at the property for 32 years - our neighbors- across the street have lived there 45 years, an a local Policeman lives 2 door down. We have never had any trouble of any kind- just great times and great reviews by a vast majority of visitors. The artistic setup of the home is a welcome change and fun to most everyone. Some people are better off staying home. It seems that they were too up tight and worry filled from city life, to relax and enjoy the beautiful home.
Great group, they really enjoyed the beautiful Petoskey general area and the comfort of our vacation home. AL

Why they chose this property
The home is only a few years old and the beautiful white maple hardwood floors, and high ceilings, really set it apart from the average carpeted dwelling. The high, wood covered ceilings, 6 panel pine doors and beautiful fireplace area make the home special. The area is quiet and peaceful located on a double lot on a side street. Easily sleeps 9 in beds and there are 2 large sofas. A perfect setting for a vacation and a Family reunion.
What makes this property unique

Beautiful white maple floors (no allergy ridden, germy carpets). A great place to stay , relax and then go out and explore the Northern Michigan area. Only 35 miles from Mackinac Island Ferry. Near ski areas. Has a unique , friendly comforting atmosphere .
