Perched on the city’s doorstep, this 3-bedroom, 3.5-bathroom apartment offers a 210m2 (2260ft2) private sanctuary mere minutes from the heart of Melbourne.

With interiors by renowned architect Sue Carr, this residence is meticulously designed for comfort and utility in a signature minimalist aesthetic.

The kitchen showcases the latest suite of Gaggenau appliances, including a combi-steam oven, pyrolytic oven, full induction cooktop, dishwasher, microwave and inbuilt espresso machine. This, coupled with a generous appointment of kitchenware and crockery, will satisfy the home cook and professional chef alike. A separate butler's pantry- with ancillary sink, bench space and secondary dishwasher- will conceal any concomitants of culinary adventures.

One hoping to forego domestic duties need only exit the apartment and be spoiled for choice of renowned local restaurants, cafes, and bars all within walking distance. Better still, guests can enjoy private in-home catering through prior arrangement with our professional chef.1

Adorning the generous living area is a linear gas fireplace and oversized furnishings by Walter Knoll matched in proportion by a 78-inch 4k TV. The adjoining balcony offers outdoor seating from which to hear the distant hush of espresso machines. Floor to ceiling glass provides an abundance of morning light while double glazing and a concrete envelope provide total insulation from Melbourne’s bustling café streetscapes and weather.

Nestled off the living space is a home office, secluded by a hidden pocket door and equipped with sprawling desk spaces and inbuilt joinery.

A private hallway leads to the main suite, replete with own balcony and expansive ensuite. The two additional king bedrooms are each equipped with ensuite, inbuilt robes, and independent zoned central air conditioning, ensuring that no guest is second-best. A further powder room ensures equal privacy and amenity to all.

The third bedroom, situated off the living space, caters to flexible sleeping arrangements, with guests’ choice of king or twin-single configuration. Alternatively, this room can cater to musicians of heart or profession, with a concert tuned kawai GL-10 baby grand piano and a selection of guitars available by prior arrangement.2

A dedicated laundry room and thoughtful allotment of household items provides guests with a genuine home base from which to explore the city.

Situated just 2.9km (1.8mi) from the city center and 250m (820ft) from South Yarra’s Railway Station, guests are never more than 7 minutes from the heart of Melbourne via public transport. Guests will also enjoy the convenience of underground secure parking with three dedicated car spaces, while additional paid secure parking at street level will cater for any spill over.

This apartment, one of just 28 residences in a 5-story ritzy block, boasts immediate access to Melbourne’s hotspots. As the proud grandchild of Greek migrant hoteliers, I was trained in their personalized and fastidious approach to hospitality and saw this cultivate life-long friendships reaching all corners of the earth. In 2019, following the growth of my technology company and relocation to Shanghai, I grasped the opportunity to revive the family business, starting with a beautiful property in South Yarra a mere block from the grandparent’s first guesthouse.
