Tiny House in Seattle

Overview

About the property

We are superhosts on Airbnb. please look us up there for reviews, we are 5 stars across the board. We are now expanding the tiny house to VRBO.

The house is located in the heart of West Seattle in a quiet neighborhood minutes away from the Alaska Junction (restaurants, bars, coffee shops, grocery stores, boutiques, Sunday farmers market), Lincoln Park, Alki Beach and more. Downtown Seattle is a quick drive/bus/water taxi away.

The tiny house is an excellent fall/winter get away. Listen to the rain fall on the metal roof as you read a book in the comfortable loft bed with thick down comforter. The cozy cabin feel is great for lounging on the sofa next to the electric fireplace and putting on a movie (Netflix, Hulu, etc. and we have a variety of DVDs in the house). We also have surround sound!

Three people is the max that could fit in the tiny house. Two in the loft and one on the sofa. Due to the loft/ladder, we do not recommend infants. Young children can sleep on the sofa.

Tipsy is located perched on a higher level of our backyard in West Seattle. We have done our best to create a private space for you--new reclaimed wood planters (coming soon: limes, lemons, cherry tomatoes, jalapenos, etc.) divide our home and yours. There are two lounge chairs to enjoy a glass of wine (weather permitting!).

The tiny house is plumbed like a normal house and has a fully enclosed shower and flushing toilet.

Sign the guest book! We would love to hear from you!

Guest access

We will provide you a code for the August Lock a couple hours before check in (3 PM).

Interaction with guests

We specifically chose the August Lock so that our guests could come and go as they please (check in: 3 PM / check out: 12 PM) and not need to wait around to meet their hosts. We work a lot and do activities outside of the house often, so although we won't be greeting you upon arrival, we are always nearby if you need anything!

The neighborhood

The West Seattle neighborhood is a favorite of Seattlites--known for its friendly people, stellar views, excellent restaurants and bars, and most famously, Alki Beach.

Getting around

We love to walk everywhere, but there are other options. West Seattle is one of the last areas of the city that has free street parking, so driving to your destination is easy. You can also bus--the #50 is one block from the tiny house and the C Line (at the Alaska/California junction about .7 miles away) will take you to the heart of downtown. Uber and Lyft are always great options! Another West Seattle favorite (if you have more time to spare): the water taxi (you may be lucky enough to spot dolphins and whales on your ride).

Other things to note

Press the red button on the keypad AFTER you enter your assigned code.

When exiting the tiny house, you can simply press the red button on the keypad to lock up.

About The Owner

We designed and built this modern/rustic tiny house and are excited to share it with you! Chad is an architect and Lindsay is a graphic designer; together we obsessed over every detail of the house. It took us 1 1/2 years to build this while working full time jobs. Its located in our backyard in a very cute neighborhood of west seattle.

Why The Owner chose Genesee

see what its like to live in a luxury tiny house. We are one of a kind, and you will never experience anything like this elsewhere.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Perfect Tiny House Experience

  • 5 of 5

Absolutely loved our time at the Tiny House. Perfect location, great value, great experience & 100% we will return. After visiting Seattle on a number of occasions, we really enjoyed staying away from the center (only 15 minutes away in a car) and exploring some local neighborhoods. Tipsy, offered the perfect opportunity.

Great to experience Tiny House living!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed two evenings, cooked meals, played ukelele (awesome!), and watched the high-tech fire and some TV. Plenty of room for all three of us, and we really enjoyed the living-in-a-caravan-feeling. Of course, it's quite the luxury caravan--with an extremely comfy mattress, down comforter, and high end furnishings!! My son was disappointed not to get to sleep in the loft, but I totally agree with the owners' assessment, that it's not really set up for small children. Unfortunately, something triggered asthma in both my son and husband, so we left a bit earlier than we were intending to-- the joys of travelling and forgetting your inhalers!
