Good location. Lots of amenities. Could be cleaner.
This was our first time staying at The Quay. We come to OC every summer but typically stay at another property.
The good: convenient to the beach. Fast elevators. Parking is a breeze--no walking down multiple flights of stairs. The beds were comfortable. Having the linens provided was a plus. Nobody wants to make beds on their vacation! The kids loved the game room downstairs with pool and pingpong. There's a small restaurant in the building--The Tiny Kitchen. We didn't eat there but it smelled great!
The bad: The condo was grungy. The high traffic areas were fairly clean, but things like the vents, baseboards, door frames, bathroom tile grout and caulk, all could use a deep clean. The bedrooms had cellular shades, which made them strikingly bright in the morning. We went in search of sleep masks at Rite Aid after being woken at 6a by the sun shining through the blinds. The owners really need to invest in some curtains. I don't recommend staying here unless you like to wake up with the chickens or you can sleep through anything.
