'Les Amandiers' is a small cottage-villa situated just above Vallauris, the 16th century pottery town, where Picasso lived. The cottage is done in traditional French style, with tiled floors throughout. Beautiful, peaceful terrace which captures the sun, with shade under the cherry tree nearby if needed!
At the back of the house is a levelled garden, with table and chairs for sitting out or dining. The cottage is ideal for two couples, with a double sofa-bed which can be used in the sitting room for children also.
The cottage is in a quiet corner on a small private road (with locked gate) that gives access to neighbours on either side and to another four villas further up the hill. Market, castle, shops and old town are ten minutes walk down the hill.
Further up the hill behind the cottage is the Parc Departemental de la Valmasque - a nature park consisting of three wooded hills alternating with soft undulating vales, this parkland is an ideal place for children, welcoming families for enriching nature observation walks, fun and games and sporting tracks. Further inland, a 1-hour drive takes you up into breathtaking mountain scenery, with spectacular views over the coast and fresh mountain air, pine trees and beautiful traditional towns and villages perched on the cliff edges.
The cottage is petite, with an upstairs bedroom (kingsized bed) on the first floor, with a very small sea view from the double doors which open out. A few steps down from the bedroom, at the back of the cottage, are the kitchen and main bathroom. On the ground floor is a small sitting room with sofa and chairs, wood-burning stove, and doors opening on to the terrace. Next to the living room is large second bedroom (kingsized bed) and a shower room. This room also opens on to the terrace.
The terrace is a lovely sun-trap for breakfast, or for eating out on warmer nights.
