About this property

Romantic bolthole for two with indoor swimming pool and sauna in Dorset

This beautifully appointed cottage is on two floors, with open plan sitting/dining room with log burner and access to a private outdoor courtyard and bateau bath for two. In the eaves, the super king double bedroom with ensuite shower has views across the surrounding countryside. Located at the heart of the rolling downlands of the Cranborne Chase, we are an ideal base from which to explore the stunning unspoilt beauty of rural Dorset as well as easy access to the breathtaking Jurrassic Coast and South West Coast Path. Flint is dog friendly and we can happily accommodate one infant aged 0-2.

Flint is one of three self-catering properties at Launceston Farm. On site, guests have shared access to the 12m biomass heated indoor swimming pool and sauna and Victorian farm courtyard garden. Each property on site has at least three pre allocated slots in the pool. It is open from 7am-8pm. The award-winning village pub specialising in locally sourced food, beer and cider is a stone's throw from the farm. Walks from the farm gate will take you across the Cranborne Chase Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty across footpaths and bridleways so don't forget walking boots and wellies. If you don't want to go out to eat, the kitchen is well equipped or you can order two-course rustic, farmhouse suppers and farm-sourced breakfasts from Sarah (minimum 48 hours notice).

National Trust properties nearby include Kingston Lacy Estate and Gardens, Badbury Rings, Brownsea Island, Stourhead House & Gardens, Corfe Castle and Studland Bay Nature Reserve. Don't leave without a visit to Monkey World - the world famous ape rescue centre - and the next door Bovington Tank Museum. Explore Poole Harbour - by boat, paddleboard or kayak - or relax on the golden sandy beaches at Sandbanks and Bournemouth. Fish, forage and explore the Jurrasic Coast from Studland Bay, Weymouth or Swanage.

Lovely barn, access to the pool unlimited due to no other guests at that time. Cute honesty shop. Only downside is received no information about check in and out. Would stay again. Lovely and clean and warm.

Cosy yet luxurious
Flint Cottage itself is absolutely charming, but the secluded courtyard with outside bateaux bath and having private access to the fantastic pool and sauna takes this rental to a different level. Cosy but luxurious!

Fantastic Peaceful Restful Retreat
We had the best 9 night stay with our dogs. Homemade cake in kitchen upon arrival, pool and sauna truly wonderful, cottage was cosy and warm. Beautifully decorated and well equipped home from home. Loads to do all throughout the year. Tank Museum was amazing and Monkey World was good too. The Langton Arms and The Anvil Inn are fantastic and Blandford is a lovely town. Highly recommend a booking for two, with or without dogs.

Perfect getaway
This was more than I could have expected we walked in to a beautiful, warm and spotless cottage with the addition of a real Christmas tree all lit up. The cooked breakfast was perfect and the rustic supper was so needed after a cold, wet and windy trip to Durdle Door (a recommended visit). We will definately be coming back.

About the host

We have lived at Launceston Farm for the last ten years; myself, husband and our three children. My mother in law was born in the Farmhouse and has lived here all her life. My husband farms the farm and our three kids help out wherever they can.

Why they chose this property

Launceston Farm is a very special place to stay. Whatever the time of year, the views across the surrounding valley and downland are breathtaking. The area is very quiet as it is rural so we don't have to worry about traffic building up in the summer but the coast is still within easy reach.

What makes this property unique

We are only two hours from London but it feels like a world away. Being on an organic working farm is an important part of what we offer whether that's from the experience of being here - the sights, the sounds, the smells - or the food we offer during your stay.
