About this property

EILDON VIEW - in the pretty market town of Melrose, near to the countryside

An inviting home in the heart of Melrose, with views stretching to the Eildon Hills.

Set back from Melrose High Street with easy access to nearby Gibson Park, Eildon View is an attractively restored stone cottage that offers a winning location in the heart of this picturesque town.

Within five minutes’ stroll of the town’s most popular sights, including Melrose Abbey, Priorwood Gardens and the Trimontium Museum, Eildon View nonetheless feels removed from the bustle with views across to the Eildon Hills and a tranquil shared rear courtyard in which to enjoy meals and drinks al fresco.

The ground floor offers a well-appointed kitchen with dining table, a comfortable sitting room with inviting plaid sofas and a guest bathroom with shower. Two cosy double bedrooms each offering views over the courtyard, are found on the upper floor, together with another contemporary bathroom with walk-in shower.

With so much to explore directly on the doorstep of this urban bolthole, there’ll barely be time to appreciate its comforts! In addition to the attractions of Melrose itself, which range from the Abbey and Roman museum to cutting-edge restaurants like Provender (handily located next door) and annual Borders Book Festival, there are plenty of options slightly further afield as well. Sir Walter Scott’s magical mansion, Abbotswood, is only 1.5 miles away, while the grand stately homes and gardens of Manderston, Mellerstain, Floors Castle and Thirlestane are also easy to reach.

Excellent property in the middle of Melrose
The property was well appointed, very clean and in an excellent location. The welcome basket and toiletries were generous. We would recommend this property and if returning to the area would stay here again.
