Idyllic spot to contemplate life
The cottage is set in the most superb spot surrounded by fields and woodland nestled next to a picture perfect pond teaming with pondlife ducks and lillies - we were even graced with the arrival of a swan family that waddled in for a bathe one morning.
There’s one other cottage behind the house but its certainly not overlooked and feels very secluded.
The cottage itself is a really fun mill conversion with the bedroom downstairs meaning you wake up surrounded by nature. There’s a walk in double shower and bathroom downstairs also.
The owners beautiful art is on all the walls which is a gorgeous addition amongst the shabby chic decor.
Up the old oak central staircase you’ll find very comfy living area and well appointed kitchen - again with mix and match farm cottage appeal that instantly makes you feel relaxed and homely.
The soft furnishings, wool blankets and old leather sofa immediately invite you to curl up with a good book next to the roaring log burner. (Which also fills the room with that lovely log burning smell that encourages a perfect sofa doze)
Stable doors allow you to open up the room and live amongst the surrounding wildlife.
The cottage has everything you need including a nice welcome pack to get you started.
I would recommend you bring all the food you need as shops are not easy to access.
(there is a BBQ)
Also there are no pubs or restaurants within walking distance so book cabs in advance if you want to partake of the many fine oldie worldy pubs and local ales.
The owners Charlie and Alice are friendly and helpful and knowledgeable.
Our dog had such a good time he wants to move in permanently.
Take a good book, your water colours, a burger and bottle of wine and you be set for the weekend.
