This property has wonderful bones, the rooms are spacious and thoughtfully decorated and comfortable. It is a wonderful location for exploring the nearby glens, the Black Isle and beyond. But the hosts/owners did not prepare us or the facilities for our visit... we had to reach out to learn how to get directions which were Snap-chatted to us, and to locate the key. The heating was not on and took several hours to come up to temperature, and there was a slight rising damp. For a while there was a question whether we would need to go to the Co-op in Beauly to top up the electrical credits ourselves, but that was resolved somehow without our involvement. While things were clean on the surface, there were cobwebs, a snail climbing the wall and the downstair toilet was not clean. The website indicated there was a clothes dryer, and there was no evidence that there had ever been a dryer in the property. The website indicated there was wi-fi, but that had not been checked by the hosts in advance and we had no internet access for the week. We asked them to compensate us for establishing wifi hot spots via phone, which was a cost to us of about 10 pounds per day, but to date have had no response. That was the most important factor in the low rating. I am sorry to report this, as the home has great potential and the other owners of the connected homes in residence were friendly and taking great care of their grounds and gardens. In contrast, our portion of the steading was untended. We really wanted this to work out to mutual satisfaction; sadly this was not the case here.
