About this property

Plum Cottage - Luxury Cottages

At a glance
Barn conversion with original oak beams renovated in a clean, modern style Private garden with a hot tub with Bluetooth speakers Lovely rural views and the possibility to spot deer and red squirrels
About the property
Plum Cottage is nestled in the heart of The Eden Valley on a working dairy farm and is truly a special place to visit. This stunning stone barn conversion retains original character, including oak ceiling beams, while decor is modern. It's ideal for a family or a group of friends wanting to relax and enjoy all the local area has to offer. Within walking distance is the historic market town of Appleby which has many interesting places to visit including Appleby Castle, while Appleby Manor and Spa is the perfect place to be pampered. Back at the cottage, there's a lovely log burner to cosy up beside, while outside in the private garden, you can relax in the hot tub and gaze at views of the surrounding farmland and beyond.
The space
The cottage has a generously sized entrance hall with a flagged floor and a coat stand, cupboard and oak bench. It's a good spot to put a dog bed, if you have your four-legged friends with you.

The open-plan lounge/dining/kitchen area has oak flooring and the original wooden ceiling beams. Large sofas invite you to sink into them and get cosy. There is a Smart TV and a quirky coffee table, while the modern log burner offers an extra kick of warmth on chilly days. In good weather, open up the patio doors to let the fresh air in.

When it comes to dining, there is a table with eight seats to gather round for dinner, while the kitchen island offers more informal seating for snacks or to keep the cook of your group company as meals are prepared.

The modern farmhouse kitchen is fully fitted with an electric oven and hob, a microwave, a fridge, a freezer, a coffee machine and a dishwasher, while the large window provides a fantastic view of the surrounding farmland and countryside.

There is also a utility room with a washing machine and tumble dryer, and a separate downstairs cloakroom with WC.

The cottage has four bedrooms, all of which are fresh and modern in style, with plenty of storage space for belongings.

On the ground floor there is a double bedroom with an en-suite with a bath and a shower over, plus a single bedroom that has been designed with a child in mind with bright colours. These bedrooms have doors to the patio.

Up the oak staircase and on the first floor are two more bedrooms. The master features a king-size bed, a chaise longue, and doors out to a balcony with seating for two. There is also a twin bedroom (which is zip and link so can be made up as a king-size bed on request). They share a Jack and Jill bathroom with shower, WC and basin. All but the single room also have a TV. An additional room with a single sofa bed is available by prior arrangement only

Outside, there is an enclosed garden with a flagged patio area and a lawn. With a dining table with seating for everyone, a swinging chair, a BBQ and a hot tub with Bluetooth speakers, it's the perfect setting to relax and socialise together.

There is also a driveway to provide ample private parking.
