Located high on the dune ridge in popular Flora's Buff on South Beach, this cottage has easy access to the beach and great views of the ocean and the forest.

Traditional floor plan (not reversed) & well-equipped. Cottage has two four-passenger golf carts and at least four beach bikes for guest use during stay.

Guest may arrange temporary memberships to the Bald Head Island Country Club and/or the Shoals Club. Temporary memberships, dates and rates are based upon club availability and arranged/paid directly with the clubs.

Guests make their own tram reservations for optimal check-in and check-out times.

This cottage is often described as peaceful and happy. Enjoy a fabulous island vacation in this lovely spot on the island!

Amazing Week at Sundance on BHI

Sundance had more than we could ask for, including a fully stocked kitchen, linens, two new golf carts, beach chairs, and more in a perfect location on the island. Nestled high on Flora's Bluff, we enjoyed wonderful ocean views and a breeze from both decks. Perfect for a family of four, I highly recommend and would definitely book again in the future!

Family beach trip

This was our first visit to Bald Head Island but certainly won’t be our last! The house was great—had everything we needed and the location on the bluff was such a bonus!

Perfectly Perched Cottage

Sundance is an adorable cottage high on the dunes overlooking south beach. Our family really enjoyed their stay. The cottage was very comfortable, well equipped and maintained. It is a short walk to the beach. The bikes were in good working order and they have 2 newer model golf carts, which are perfect when 4 drivers are staying at the house. In addition, the hosts were communicative and friendly. We will definitely book again!

Wonderful getaway

Sundance was a lovely property with every amenity you could ask for. It was great for our family of 4. Close enough to the beach to walk to but we chose to drive out golf cart down to south beach access 29 with all the gear. It was very easy. Great views from both balconies, perfect place for the early morning coffee or tea. The top balcony was wonderful to catch the sunset or watch the storms over the ocean. The property even had some kids craft activities stashed away for any rainy days. Would stay again.

So responsive

We had a great experience renting this property. Sue Ellen and John are thorough in details, thoughtful of their clients and extremely responsive of any issues after arrival. I know because we were due to arrive right before Isaias did and had lots of questions and concerns! We definitely recommend these owners and this property!

Great Experience at Sundance

My family and I really enjoyed our stay! The house was lovely, great location, beautiful view, awesome layout for a family. My son really enjoyed sleeping on the pull out chairs in the living room to enjoy the TV at night. The bikes and beach chairs as well as other amenities were in great condition. The communication prior , during and after our stay made this experience even better!

Great private rental with ocean views and easy beach access

We loved our stay at this property. The house has ocean views from both floors and easy beach access. It was clean, comfortable, and relaxing. The living room especially was well furnished and comfortable with a large new L-shaped couch and love seats. The owners were extraordinarily helpful and organized and responsive to all our questions and concerns - probably the most helpful and responsive I have experienced with any vacation rental. Great experience!

Wonderful BHI Cottage

We had an absolutely wonderful stay and loved Sue Ellen and John’s cottage. It worked perfectly for our family of five and was so central to everything on the island. Their kitchen and garage were so well stocked, so we enjoyed using their bikes, boogey boards, beach chairs and umbrellas. Our favorite thing to do was to sit on the lovely covered back porch deck and look at the beautiful ocean view and feel the ocean breeze. Especially during this uncertain and stressful time of Covid, Sue Ellen and John were the most helpful and accommodating of hosts and communicated with us throughout the months leading up to our stay to keep us informed and were available during our time on the island. We would love to return to their beautiful home and would highly recommend!

Sundance is a Sweet Spot!

A lovely, welcoming home. The owners truly have thought of everything. We had a question or two during our stay and they responded within minutes. The location is a few minutes from South Beach via private access walkway. I would not rent anywhere else. Syd & Diane Rogers

10 Year Anniversary Retreat

My wife and I have stayed in several vacation rentals on Bald Head, but were looking for something special for our 10 year anniversary. After careful consideration we chose this house and it did not disappoint. When we arrived, several convenient and thoughtful items were ready for us which made settling in easy. The house was furnished and decorated well, the bed was comfortable, and it felt like home. The kicker was panoramic ocean views from the balcony and they were spectacular. We had a wonderful anniversary week, it was quiet and relaxing. It was a spectacular choice for our anniversary and after the week was over we’d felt like we had a special time.

First Time at BHI...Won't Be The Last!

Sundance @ BHI is just a gem of a house. It's a short walk to the beach, or an even-shorter ride on one of the TWO provided golf carts. It's situated near the top of a hill, with great views of the ocean, just over tree tops. The house is updated, comfortable, and well-maintained. The kitchen is very well stocked, and the owners (John & Sue Ellen) put obvious care and detail into each visitor's stay, answering all of our pre-visit questions with quick and attentive replies. We hope to visit BHI again very soon, and would be thrilled to stay at this house when we do!

Attention to detail

We enjoyed this home so much! It’s a rare treat to find a rental that is so obviously loved and cared for by the owners. The owner’s attention to detail made us feel like we were staying at a friend’s home. Beach chairs, umbrellas, beach towels were all in great shape and made it easy for us to come in from a long trip. The furniture is beautiful and comfortable and the porch is stocked with rocking chairs - a perfect place for a morning coffee! Really enjoyed staying here!

The house was exactly as advertised.The owners went above and beyond and provided a welcome package.

We would definitely stay there again. The house included free membership at one of the clubs. They even allowed us to stay later on the day we left as there was no one coming after us for a few days. Wonderful.

The improvements were wonderful at Sundance. Even though I don’t cart had a tire blowout, the ready set cart place was fantastic and had the cart and shipshape within the hour. Our stay at Sundance was fabulous.

Lovely cottage

This home is lovely and offers all the comforts of home! The location was perfect with ocean views from both porches. There were 2 couples in our group. Having 2 Golf carts and 4 beach bikes was great! The house is equipped with just about anything you can think of. I highly recommend this house and I would rent it again in a heartbeat. We all truly enjoyed our stay at Sundance on BHI !!!

Our favorite on the island

We have stayed in 6 different rental homes on BHI, and this is our favorite. My wife and I enjoy it just for us or with a couple of friends/family. Very comfortable, great views, quiet, peaceful, well stocked, and maintained. The owners are great to work with as well.

WONDERFUL RENTAL

My husband and I vacation on BHI every year, recently completing our six year. We have stayed in many houses in different locations on the island. This was our first time at Sundance. The house was awesome! Not only was the home clean, but everything was neatly kept and had anything you could ask for on a week away from home. The location was awesome as you could see the ocean from both balconies. The kitchen was great and the cottage even has a very nice grill for making your steaks from the Maritime market! I would recommend this cottage to anyone from a couple looking to just get away or a family looking for some beach time! The owners of this home were wonderful to deal with. We will absolutely be back!
