The cabin is nestled in the beautiful national forests surrounding St. Mary’s Glacier in the St. Mary’s Colorado. The natural setting allows for all sorts of outdoor activities. In the winter you can enjoy backcountry skiing, snowshoeing, snowboarding. When the snow melts in May, opportunities for hiking, mountain biking, 4x4 off-roading, backpacking and camping abound. The base of St. Mary's Glacier hiking course is quarter mile away.
Also there are two private lakes in the neighborhood that can be fished. Two fishing badges provided to fish in two private and stocked lakes!
Walking distance to the glacier hike and fishing. If it gets a
little chilly, light a fire in the outdoor large fire pit, or head inside, light a fire in the cast iron wood stove.
Peaceful and spacious cabin with 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, and great room with wood burning fireplace. On the top level is the master bedroom with a king size bed. Jack and Jill bathroom with second bedroom, which has full size bed. On the main level is the great room, kitchen, nook and 2nd full bathroom. Third bedroom located on main level with a full size bed. Wi-Fi internet, satellite TV, and variety of books provided. Enjoy stargazing in the evening through our large windows in the great room and balcony off the Master bedroom. There is a laundry room in the basement.
The nearby quaint town of Idaho Springs boasts unique shops and is rich in frontier and mining history. Try your luck at panning for gold after taking in a tour at one of the local mines. Run the rapids of Clear Creek with one of the several rafting companies right in Idaho Springs. Afterwards, soak in the hot springs and baths of Indian Springs. Or you can just spend the day shopping and visiting some of the several museums around town that are interesting for the entire family. There are several restaurants in Idaho Springs as well. BeauJo’s world famous pizza is an excellent choice or you can try one (or two) of the microbrews at Tommyknocker’s.
Please get your food supplies on your way up to the cabin as the closest store is about 10 miles away in the town of Idaho Springs.
Close to Loveland and Arapahoe Basin Ski Resorts.
The Georgetown loop railroad is only a 20 minute drive.
Close but not too close to Downtown Denver, which is 50 minutes away.
