The house is unique and decorated with art, statues and antiques from the Hudson Valley area. The foyer of the house contains paintings by Mrs. Barbara Lebhar whose work reflects the Hudson Valley School of artists. She was a student of the famous Hongnian Zhang, a Chinese American oil painter who works in the western academic tradition and a Woodstock legend.
In the dining room, or the green room as the owner’s call it, Mrs. Lebhar’s oil paintings capture the beauty of the magnificent Catskill Mountains, the reservoir and surrounding Catskill region. There are also several oil paintings by her sister A.J. Maloney who also studied under Zhang. The living room, or the nautical room, as the owners have lovingly named it, contains a number of accessories from the Catskill region. On the mantel are two lanterns that were once part of the Riverside Estate on the Hudson. The two Persian rugs are also from the mansion. There is a ship’s weight table lamp by famous designer Frank Schwind who was a commercial interior designer. He designed garment showrooms for Valentino and Ellen Tracy. He designed “Sweet Endings” and Papagallo Ice Parlor in Woodstock, New York.
Two of the upstairs bedrooms are furnished by twin beds and a double bed dated to the late 1700’s. These were also from the Riverside Estate on the Hudson River. The large modern art in the two front bedrooms and the hallway are from local Woodstock artist September Heart. She is featured in the 1969 Woodstock Calendar. Her featured painting in the calendar hangs on the wall in the master bedroom and the calendar is displayed on the tall chest of drawers.. The artist states “In 2000, I began painting in the en caustic medium, creating an optical depth and dimension that could not be achieved any other way. Recently, I took my smaller mixed-media, collage and en caustics to a much larger scale, utilizing the Archival printing process. I embellish the print on the canvas with acrylic paint. This transformation into a scale of up to 6x9 feet has given me a new perspective and new inspiration.” THer\
In the kitchen there is a cannon ball retrieved from the Hurley flats. There are also a tool sharpener and coffee grinder from the Riverside Estate on the Hudson River. The antique farm table in the kitchen is from the Brink Farm House in Hurley.
