About this property

Clean, renovated country home near Lake DuBay, Stevens Point/Wausau

This farmhouse provides a clean, spacious home in a quiet rural setting. It's perfect for a larger family that requires a little extra room. It has four bedrooms, three queen beds and two twin beds. It also has a sofa sleeper in the living room, a futon in the playroom and an extra Trundle bed in the laundry room. The house has two full bathrooms, kitchen, living room, dining room, play room, sun porch and laundry room. It's within twenty minutes or less of Wausau and Stevens Point, Granite Peak Ski Area, Nine Mile Recreation area, Central Wisconsin Convention Center, Central Wisconsin Airport, University of Wisconsin Stevens Point, the Green Circle Trail, and just 2 miles from Lake DuBay.

The property offers private wooded hiking trails along the Little Eau Claire river and plenty of wildlife viewing opportunities. Early spring and fall offer area kayaking, canoeing and nearby fishing opportunities. Winter offers trails just outside the door for snowshoeing, cross country skiing (self groomed) on our 109 acre private property. Access is available to the Portage County snowmobile trail system. Summer evenings can be enjoyed right from the sun porch watching hummingbirds and our free ranging chickens.

Although it's been nearly twenty years since the farm was used as a dairy farm, the barn, silo, and numerous outbuildings allow one to step back in time and imagine what life was once like on the farm. Today, acreage is used for traditional crop rotation and Christmas trees supplying an onsite choose and cut retail farm. So, depending on the season, active farming, planting and harvesting may be witnessed. If bored, you might be asked to bale hay or shear a few hundred Christmas trees (ha ha).

Rates are based on occupancy of six people but can accommodate twelve people (10 adults). Additional $20.00 charge per night/per guest. Dogs are allowed at $20.00 per night/per dog, please see house rules and restrictions. Unlike many rental properties, we currently do not charge a service fee and/or a cleaning fee. In order to keep your costs more affordable, we do ask our guests to do light cleaning prior to departure and treat the house as you would your own.

Our guests have found this is a perfect location to unplug, relax and be offline but we do have fiber optic wireless internet service just in case you need to stay connected. We as owners welcome you and want your stay to be an enjoyable experience. Living just a few minutes down the road to this property allows us to be easily accessible and a source for information regarding the area.

Country Mission Farm supports the local community and actively donates to charitable organizations through the business. One of our current non-profit benefactors is Evergreen Community Initiatives (ECI) of Portage County. It's programs help feed the hungry, clothe the poor and provide a warming shelter for those in need. Another charity we are supporting is the Hagar House of Wausau. It offers housing, resources and is a faith-based organization that helps women and children that have experienced crisis get the assistance they need. Thank you for your support!

Memorial weekend stay
Conviniently located close to DuBay, Wisconsin River launch and Stevens Point. Lots of local establishments to visit and eat at. House has lots of room. Barn with games is cool. The trail is nice. Ricer behind property has potential to fish in although the water was too high when I was there. Girls enjoyed paddle boat on pond. Pond will have a nice population of bluegills in a couple of years. Great talking to Regan. My wife fell in love with the area. Dogs enjoyed their stay. Found a gem of a place for memorial weekend. Plan on returning.

Great Stay and Fantastic Location
This property was exactly what we were looking for! Our group truly enjoyed their stay! It was the perfect location and the owners were amazing about showing us around the property! They even had a great little welcome gift of fresh eggs, Wisconsin cheese curds and some Point root beer! I highly recommend this rental, especially if you're traveling with your dogs! Thanks for a great stay!

Celebrating daughter’s college graduation
This property is a great alternative to a hotel for a family. You can bring your family dog and enjoy a nostalgic farm complete with chickens and goats! Short drive to Steven’s Point and local establishments. We loved the house, very comfortable and spacious. We would love to stay again sometime. Thank you!
