Superb property in convenient area of Guadeloupe
This is a superb property, clean, large, fully-equipped, quiet, private, in a nice suburb on the northern tip of the west island. It's only 20 kms or so from Deshaies, and Guadeloupe's capital is in the other direction, about an hour away (with very heavy traffic at most times of the day).
Our wonderful hosts, Martine and Pierre, were there on arrival and had stocked our fridge so that we didn't need to go out that evening. There is a neighbouring shopping plaza, with a good grocery store, a nice coffee shop, and two pizzerias (the one closer to the highway better than the other).
The beach area is only a short walk down the hill, through a pasture area to the shore, which is well shaded by trees all along. It's a nice walk even on the hottest days because of the shade.
The house itself is a pleasure, large, well-appointed, with three spacious bedrooms downstairs, along with two full WCs, and a large area upstairs with two queen-sized beds. We were two retired couples without children; we could have had another four people in the house without problems. The outside area is excellent, well shaded when you want it, with nice chairs around the pool.
The house comes with a cat, or in our case two or three cats, since the neighbour's cats wandered in at will. The food comes with the house.
Guadeloupe is a superb vacation destination. Lots to do, and lots to see, and the driving is easy. This house is simply wonderful. We'd love to come back!
