About the host
Hosted by Eric Freeman
My name is Eric and I am a Marine Climatologist and my wife, Maria, is a local school teacher. We love renovating old houses and fell in love with this place when we first saw it. Three years later the house is brand new again, retaining many of the original features of the house as it was back in 1897, or replicating those details that could not be salvaged.
Why they chose this property
Tranquil property that gives a wonderful feeling every time you come into the yard or house.
Very warm and inviting with an impressive and atypical structure that has interesting asymmetrical angles and unusually large window panes for the time (unfortunately replaced now). It even had running water and electricity at the turn of the 20th Century. High living in rural North Carolina!

What makes this property unique
Ask about the wooden barrel that will be a shower one day! Once used for running water for the home, the barrel was abandoned in the attic eve once modern plumbing was available. In the coming years this barrel will be the coolest shower ever!!
