About this property

This 1949 apartment is on the first floor of a 4-plex, in the heart of the Hyde Park Historic District. It is very charming and is in a safe, tree-lined area. It is within walking distance to many different restaurants, shops, parks and entertainment venues. It is also walking distance to nearby beautiful Bayshore Boulevard, which has 4 miles of continuous waterfront sidewalk.

The apartment is about 600 sq. ft. It has tile floors, its own washer/dryer, two ceiling fans, two mini-split air conditioning/heating units, and its own dedicated off-street parking. The covered front porch/laundry room area is for the exclusive use of guests in this unit. It also includes a family room, fully-equipped kitchen, small dining table with two chairs, a hallway with a storage cabinet, a bedroom with a dresser, bedside tables and a closet, and a full bathroom which includes a combination shower/tub. There is a private side courtyard for exclusive use of guests staying in this apartment.

All guests staying in all four units of the quad-plex have shared use of the concrete table/benches in the front yard of the property.Entry to the premises is via a digital keyless entry system.

Prior to check-in, I will provide each renter with their own unique entry code, which will only be valid during the length of their stay. I will always be available via cell phone/email for any inquiries that guests may have. I also live within 5 minutes of the property and will be available in-person on most occasions. I love to help visitors make the most of their stay in Tampa!

This property is in the beautiful Hyde Park neighborhood —walking distance to great restaurants. The property was perfect for me and I would go back.

Retro Apartment in Hyde Park

We stayed for three nights last week. Jennifer is one of the best owners we have encountered while using VRBO. She always communicated in a very timely manner, usually within minutes of emailing her. She graciously allowed us to check in early and check out late. She had lots of info about the area, where to eat, area attractions, etc. The apartment is as advertised. It is vintage while having everything we needed on hand. The apartment was clean and well kept. The outdoor patio was a fabulous space to have morning tea and coffee as well as to relax at the end of the day. There were renters right above us but we never heard them. The neighborhood is the best and very safe! A few blocks away there is a lovely little park. Another block or two from the park is Hyde Park Village. We loved it there. Many restaurants, shops and a very cool vibe. A few blocks in the other direction of the apartment is Bayshore Blvd. A long, lovely walkway on the water where there are benches here and there to sit and enjoy the view. The only reason we gave this apartment four stars is because of the yard. It is overgrown with weeds and some dead or dying bushes and palms. We were very disappointed when we pulled up to the property for the above reasons. There is also a little pond that was in desperate need of help. I'm sure that an overhaul on the landscaping, some trimming and TLC can make this property shine. Overall, I would recommend this property as long as the yard issues are addressed.

This was a great little apartment with much charm and character in a quiet and safe neighborhood close to Hyde Park and Bayshore Blvd. Parking was ample too. The hosts were very friendly and responsive. We would stay here again.

Location, location, location! It is a cute home in the middle of Historic Hyde Park - a walking, tree-lined neighborhood filled with all kinds of restaurants/bars, cafes, shops, parks, and a movie theater. It is just one to two miles away from downtown (Channelside, the Tampa Convention Center and Amalie Arena) and within 10-15 minutes to MacDill AFB, Westshore Business District, Ybor City, and the Airport. It is only a few blocks from Bayshore Boulevard, which has 4 miles of continuous waterfront sidewalk.
