This slopeside round house has the best ski access on the mountain. You can put your skis on in the living room and ski out the backdoor! A gas fireplace keeps the sunken living room toasty for your return home after a day of shredding fresh powder. The full kitchen awaits you for any feast the family desires, and the dishwasher keeps the clean up easy. Large windows bring in natural light while allowing you to watch the skiers from the warmth of your living room if the wraparound porch is too cold.

There are so many adventures here at Sugar Mountain that you don't have to go far for your activities. Just a few minutes drive can bring you to white water rafting at High Mountain Expeditions, ziplining the treetops at Hawksnest, or walking along the Mile High Swinging Bridge for breathtaking views of the mountains. You can take the whole family out for an educational trip at the Foggy Mountain Gem Mine if you need a break from the Ski Resort right up the street.

6/10 Okay

Great location, but unit has a musty odor and floors were filthy
The location was wonderful and could not be much better. Sadly the unit smells old and we could not overlook it. We went to the grocery store to buy odor neutralizer and it was tolerable for 2 days. Kitchen is not properly stocked with tools, missing measuring spoons and cups. There is no hair dryer in the unit. Very odd master bathroom layout. The toilet is in the bedroom with a small short wall dividing it. You can hear and smell everything. Had to lock the bedroom door to keep anyone from walking in on you using the toilet. Will not be staying at this unit again.

Great house but 1 feature was a huge problem
The house is cozy, clean and did not have the musty smell as some others stated. It is steps to the slopes, right where Big Birch turns into lower flying mile so our beginner snow boarders and skiers where able to come and go from the house. On the way back to the house they were able to cross over from the little grey lift/green slopes. We had an issue with our bed and Vacasa sent someone out within hours to fix it. The big issue for us and the only reason I gave 3 stars was that the main bedroom's bathroom was literally IN the bedroom, toilet, shower, sink and bedroom all part of ONE room. It is not very evident in the photos, click on the virtual tour and you will see it, which I didn't do when I booked. You will also see exposed capped wires to the left of the master bed that could be a problem if you have littles. Unfortunately that bedroom/bathroom set up will be keeping us from booking here every year.

Wonderful location for stay to see Fall colors
Comfy beds, We made good use of the nice kitchen and also the coffee maker was excellent. Morning coffee on the porch enjoying the view of the mountain ski slope and Fall colors. Nice TV screens for our evenings. Conveniently located near grocery store and Banner Elk, The one negative is the bathroom plumbing is *very* noisy. Overall though an excellent experience.

It was nice!
Overall it was a nice place. We did have problems with the TV in the living room not working and when the jets were turned on in the tub they blew out black gunk. Other than that it was nice. We would stay there again.
