About this property

Village house with character - Pool and lawn. AC

The villa, originally built in 18th century with traditional stones, hosts 9 (up to 6 adults and 3 children) in 4 bedrooms. Private garden with pool, lawn, laurel trees. and a large terrace with BBQ, all provide for enjoyable and secluded moments, yet in the centre of a lively, typical village, and just 45mn walk to Unesco heritage site Pont-du-Gard.

Located at the end of a quiet alley, in the lively center of Vers-Pont-du-Gard village, the villa, "L'enclos des Lauriers" is a perfect venue for great moments with family and friends.
Entering through the courtyard, you will find a small terrace with access to the kitchen and living room.
The courtyard provides private parking space for large sedan or SUV car. There are ample other free parking spaces available in the village.

Once in, you can see some of the old beams and details, showing you that this level is the former cellars of the old farmhouse. The kitchen is fully equipped with a refrigerator-freezer, gas stove, oven, dishwasher, coffee machine and a large Nespresso coffeemaker. There is a comfortable living room/dining room with a large table and seating for big groups as well as a seating area by the fireplace. A second lounge room with a TV, cable channels, sofa and AC, adjoins the living room.

From the kitchen is an access to a bathroom with shower, WC, Washing-machine & dryer, and also another access leading up to kids room with 3 single beds with air conditioned unit.

Down from the kitchen, a staircase leads to the master suite, with its stone vault ceiling, keeping it from the summer heat, and its private dressing room, and bathroom (bathtub, Italian shower, toilet)

Wifi network with 3 mesh extenders for wifi signal spreading across house and garden (with limitation only in the annex house)

The lush garden is fenced, thus ideal for children, and shielded from view. There are plenty of trees for shade in the summer and pretty plantings all around the edges. The pool deck is secured with a removable fence. Groups without small children can make prior request to remove the fence ahead of their stay, for a clearer view, at their own responsibility.
A large table, sitting 10, and parasol are positioned near the pool for summer dining. And an outdoor lounge place is great to whine the day away. There is also a summer kitchen equipped with a fridge, sink, dishwasher, Nespresso machine, gas stove, all within a stone bar, and modern 3 burner gaz barbecue grill. Table football and outside games are available.

The lawn, automatically irrigated nightly, garden and pool are regularly maintained.

There is a guest apartment on the other side of the garden with a double bed, air conditioned unit, shower and toilet.

From the garden back to the entrance courtyard, an under passage gives also access to the third double bedroom, with view on the garden, enclosed bathroom with shower, sink and toilet, and air conditioned unit. There is also a 5th independent toilet accessible from the courtyard.

We do not allow any pets. No smoking inside the house. House air conditioned - Only one bedroom is not air conditioned, but stays fresh, fan provided. All included: Linens, sheets, pool and bath towels, all charges and cleaning at the end of your stay.

L'Enclos des Lauriers is in the center of Vers-Pont-du-Gard which is located between Uzès, Avignon and Nimes and next to the Unesco Heritage site Pont du Gard.
The Gard region is a true paradise for hiking, canoeing, horseback riding or cycling. The Alès and Uzès golf courses are less than 20 km from the house andtennis courts are close by.
Several tourist and historic sites to visit nearby: Duchy of Uzès, the Pont du Gard, Nîmes with its bull ring and Maison Carré, Avignon and the Popes' Palace, Arles and its arena, the Camargue and its horses, Haribo factory, the Gardon River and Ardèche canyons, the Anduze bamboo garden and its small steam train, the Haras d'Uzès famous equestrian center. L'Enclose des Lauriers is a perfect location for taking day trips to Les Baux de Provence, St Remy de Provence, Aix en Provence, the Camargue beaches or the Cevennes Mountains.
One of the most beautiful markets in the South of France takes place every Wednesday and Saturday in Uzès in the Place aux Herbes. Here you will find local products: fruits, vegetables, goat cheese, wines and local Mediterranean products, as well as soaps, pottery, linens and clothes.
During summer, you can head to the night markets of Uzès and the surrounding villages. There are music festivals at the Pont du Gard, Blauzac (Jazz), and Uzès, among others. Local village festivals take place every weekend in the region with running of the bulls in the streets, music, food and children's activities.
For those who love gourmet cuisine and wine, you will love this area! You will be in the heart of the Côtes du Rhône wine region . The well known Chateauneuf du Pape or Vacqueras are easily accessible by car for a day trip of wine tasting. The Foire aux Vins d’Uzès (wine fair), where the regions wines are showcased, takes place every year on the 2nd weekend of August,.
During winter, the Fête de la Truffe (truffle festival), occurs every 3rd weekend of January and offers fresh truffles, tastings, food and wine pairings, and a large dinner prepared by Michelin starred chefs. It is possible to rent the house for the weekend only.
An instruction book is provided for you upon your arrival with local restaurant recommendations and places to visit.

A very pleasant stay in a small village near the Pont du Gard
This traditional stone home in Vers was clean, well equipped, and entirely met the needs of 7 adults staying there. We confirm the positive comments made by others - it's hard to know what new to add! The location was ideal to tour both the western areas of Provence, and nearby areas of Occitanie to the west. The property manager handled our few requests promptly and efficiently. An excellent overall experience.

Tolles Ferienhaus!!
