About this property

Just 12 miles from Yosemite's South Gate, Tranquility House on Lewis Creek is a peaceful, private get-away. Our home is intimate enough for couples yet large enough for family/friend groups of six. With two bedrooms and a loft, the house sleeps six comfortably. Other amenities are two bathrooms, a large deck overlooking the creek, new kitchen appliances, and massive stone fireplace in the large great room. Window views across the front of the house to the creek. Only six miles to town and eight miles to Bass Lake; direct access into high country up Road 632. My grandfather built the home in the 1960s. Wonderful!

My husband and I stayed 4 nights and absolutely loved it! It's such a beautiful and relaxing property and perfectly located near the southgate of Yosemite. Larry was extremely responsive with all questions and was kind enough to provide valuable information concerning the park, along with suggestions for beautiful hikes located near the property. The house was very clean and well stocked with all that we needed.

Beautiful stay

Amazing stay at Doug’s place. Very hospitable host and central location. Great view of the creek from the patio. Not far from Yosemite and other sites.

Perfect spot

This is an ideal place to stay when visiting Yosemite. Fairly close to the South Gate and also close to Oakhurst, it is in a private setting overlooking a rushing stream. The kitchen is well equipped and the downstairs master bed is highly comfortable. The great room is lovely - hard to believe this home was built in the sixties with its high ceilings and open rafters. All in all a great place!

Tranquility

The house is aptly name 'Tranquility House' and is a testament to it. The location is nested in the woods adjacent to a small stream. We stayed there for four days and family really enjoyed the stay. It really provided us the calm atmosphere that we were looking for to get a break from the busy urban life stress. The owner, Doug was very responsive and kept in touch all through to make sure our stay was comfortable. We surely will come back and stay in the cabin for a longer time and refer our friends and families as well. Highly recommended....

Cabin on the creek

This was the cutest cabin on a creek and 10 mins from Yosemite. The pictures do not do justice at all. Nice leather furniture in living room and dining room table to eat. Bedroom downstairs and nice bathroom with towel warmer. Upstairs big bedroom with bathroom and more beds for the kids. Big patio with amazing view of creek. We will definitely stay again when visiting Yosemite.

The 3-acre property is adjacent to an old mill that belonged to my grandfather in the 1950s so it holds many memories for my family. My wife Judy and I as well as our three daughters and their families are frequent visitors to the property. During your stay, I am available by phone and by messaging to answer any questions or to help resolve any other issues. Overlooks the creek. Tranquil. Private. Relaxing. Romantic. Close to Yosemite and to town. Two master bedrooms with comfortable king beds. A loft with a twin trundle bed (not as comfortable but A-OK for kids). Beautiful old cedar beams and T&G walls/ceiling. Historic.
