Welcome to The Summit #1205 one of the most panoramic views of the Great Smoky Mountains and LeConte peak that Tennessee has to offer! This view can be enjoyed directly from relaxing on the couch, the dining area and on your private balcony with 2 swinging hammock chairs!
Stargazing is as simple as opening the curtains and looking out into the night sky without leaving the condo! Due to the elevation, the stars are bright, plentiful and galactical! Let’s see who can spot Orion’s Belt first! (Hint: look for 3 bright stars in a row).
This condo is located on the 2nd floor, so unpack, unwind and kick off your vacation in paradise.
Unit #1205 is a 2 bedroom, one with a King bed and the second room has queen bed. In the living room is a twin pullout bed and a comfy couch. This is the perfect place for a romantic couple’s getaway, best friends or an adventurous family vacation for 4. This unit comes fully-equipped with a full kitchen, large dining table that welcomes 4 happy travelers. There are 2 bathrooms. One has a bathtub and shower and the other one has a shower, both with new shower heads and handheld hoses. Make sure you spend some time in the luxurious, shiatsu massage chair to help relax sore muscles! The blackout curtains allow you to sleep in, or leave the curtains open and allow the sunshine to naturally awaken your spirits. Our condo has been outfitted for your pleasure and for our family adventures, so we hope you enjoy the comforts we have added that other condos do not offer! Outside in the common grounds you can sit back and enjoy the fresh, crisp mountain air at about 2,500 ft in altitude, while grilling up your local favorites whether you caught some fresh fish or ventured into town for some local meats and produce. At The Summit there is an outdoor grill and outdoor swimming pool with a Jacuzzi. There are a couple arcade games and a laundry room for your convenience. There is free parking, free WIFI, 3 flat screen TVs, one in each room and the living room.
Just 2 miles away all nestled in the mountains is the breathtaking Ober Ski Resort where you can ski, snowboard, dine, ice skate and ride ice bumper cars (both open all year). Throughout various times of the year, you can enjoy water slides, a carousel, miniature golf, kiddie rides, arcade, chair swings, amaze’n maze, alpine slides and the scenic ski mountain coaster. Also located at the Ober Ski Resort is a Wildlife Encounter experience where you can enjoy watching nature at its finest. You can view bears, bobcats, owls, otters, birds, flying squirrels, snakes, turtles, raccoons and the cute little cousins of Pepe Le Pew – skunks!
When you drive just a short 3 miles down the lush, tree lined, forest mountain road, you will be in the heart of downtown Gatlinburg! Here they offer some of the finest steakhouses, restaurants, world famous dinner shows, hiking, mountain biking, alpine roller coasters, ziplining, kayaking, water tubing, white water rafting, fly fishing, fresh water fishing, horseback riding, bird watching, scenic drives (8 mile craft trail), aerial tram, wildlife viewing, golfing, antiquing, aquarium and so much more!As you stroll down the Parkway, you can watch local artisans make taffy, fudge, chocolates & foot long corn dogs! They also offer a variety of local wine tastings and moonshine samplings where you can kick back and relax in a rocking chair while listening to live music. Make sure you take the scenic “Chondola” (gondola) chair lift up to the Anakeesta Mountain Summit, where you will enter the magical Firefly Village! Anakeesta is a Cherokee word meaning “Place of the Balsams” or a place of high ground. Anakeesta rock was formed over 200 million years ago and is mostly slate. You can see Anakeesta rock high above Gatlinburg.
Up on this mountain with its Storybook Architecture you can view the quaint town of Gatlinburg and enjoy the majestic view of the Smoky Mountains including the world famous “hiker’s bucket list,” of Mt. LeConte. One admission allows you to ride up and down the mountain as many times as you’d like throughout the day. Plan to spend an evening up there, so you can dine in one of their restaurants, stroll into the ice cream parlor, pick up a pastry, go shopping, grab a local brew from the beer truck, kick back in a rocking chair and listen to live music.
For more of an adventurous kick, do NOT miss out on the 16 bridge Tree Canopy Walk where you are 40-60 feet suspended above the forest. Grab a friend, tap into your inner firefly and glide down the dueling ziplines side by side across 1,000+ feet, as you soar 125 feet in the air. This is the closest to Superman or Tinkerbell you will ever get! Make sure you hop a ride down the mountain in the new alpine coaster called the Rail Runner!
During the Summer months Anakeesta is the best spot to view thousands of fireflies, hence the name Firefly Village! Make sure you stay to watch the sunset, as it slowly fades into the Smoky Mountains and retires for the night. Located 10-17 miles from Gatlinburg are the two most jam-packed amusement and adventure towns of Pigeon Forge and Sevierville. Here you will find the Dollywood Amusement Park, The Island with a 200 ft Ferris Wheel, Paula Deen’s restaurant, go-cart haven, dinner shows galore, antiquing & more! It’s a must for thrill-seekers to experience a helicopter tour of the Great Smoky Mountains! Happy trails to all!
