About this property

Lookout 1 Cabin on Charleston Lake

The Lookout 1 is a sweet, little cabin perched on a hilltop overlooking Charleston Lake. Comfortable, clean and charming, this vintage housekeeping cabin is situated next to our Lookout 2 cabin. Many of our guests enjoy booking both cabins with extended family or friends.

*

Enjoy evening campfires with your loved ones by the propane fire appliance. Grill your favorite kabobs on your propane BBQ or enjoy a hot mug of tea on your deck.

Guests enjoy shared use of kayaks and SUPs (stand up paddle boards) during their stay and deep swimming off our west docks.

An air conditioner & space heaters have been provided for your comfort. All bedding and linens are provided.

WiFi is available, but can be spotty sometimes - particularly during busier seasons. The television is equipped with a ROKU device, DVD player and library of DVDs.

*

Charleston Lakeside Retreat is a small "resort" consisting of 5 vintage housekeeping cabins and our home. The property was originally used as a church camp in the early 1900's and the buildings all face the lake in a "U" shape in groupings of two with an large shared lawn space. The property feels much like a small gated community. It's a lovely place to escape the hustle and bustle to enjoy nature.

We are located on a peninsula with one dock on either side. One side offers incredible views, and the other side - fabulous deep swimming. There are three beaches within a 10min drive.

Boat/trailer parking is offered to guests with their own boats pending availability. Maximum of one boat/trailer per cabin. Please contact us prior to booking to confirm availability.

Guests are asked to tidy up after themselves and to be considerate of others during their stay. Many of the furniture pieces are family heirlooms - please use provided coasters and treat our property with care. Towels are not included with your stay to preserve our well and septic systems. Please bring your own or contact us to arrange towel rental.

We live on the property and will be here to greet you and show you around. If you would like to explore the area and are looking for things to do - please let us know. We are happy to help.

We care about the enjoyment of all guests on site as well as our investment.

Great getaway!
Clean, tidy, cute little cabin overlooking the bay. The full kitchen was a blessing for us, and made a weekend with the kids way easier. Check in was a breeze, it was great having the little convenience store across the road for last-minute essentials (and some treats!). Very close to the provincial park, and we were pointed to a great country market just up the road with some fresh veggies, preserves, and steaks for a nice dinner. Our only regret is that we didn't book a couple more days.
