Exceptional, Attractive, Comfortable Home
Off-season on the French Riviera is, for many, the best time to be in Nice, France. Especially if you can arrange a stay at Marco Ferrero’s spacious contemporary home, with three comfortably appointed bedrooms, two large bathrooms, and an expansive, well-stocked chef-enviable kitchen. But most unforgettable are the breathtaking views from multi-tiered terraces, each level teeming with fragrant herbs, orange trees and blooming, exotic succulents. Each perspective offers another view of legendary Nice, a city carved within mountain rock, cradling a coastal arc of the Mediterranean Sea. These settings, perfect for meditation and yoga sessions are likewise equipped with dining tables and lounge furniture, perfect for intimate dining or socializing with friends. The house is less than an hour’s drive from Cannes, Monaco and the Italian border. The January weather was crisp and sunny enough for us to enjoy walks along the beach, and comfortable strolls through the ancient towns of Eze, Saint Paul de Vence, and Menton, all unimpeded by throngs of summer tourists. The same is true for the area’s iconic museums, where you can often find yourself alone within inches of your favorite works by Matisse, Miró, Picasso, Chagall and Leger. You will likewise find restaurants and shops welcoming, un-rushed and indulgent. And Marco is indeed a gracious, meticulous host, a new friend who makes you want to return to this special speck of paradise.
