About this property

Creekside Cabin - Cute Log Cabin on Big Timber Creek

*Kindly note that Creekside Cabin shares the property with three additional cabins: Sagebrush Cabin, Fisher Cabin, and Canyon Vista Cabin. It's an ideal arrangement for booking multiple cabins together, making it perfect for larger families or gatherings. Although Canyon Vista is situated separately from the other three cabins, it is still part of the same property.*

Creekside Cabin is a rustic log cabin getaway secluded in a forested mountain canyon in the Crazy Mountains of southwestern Montana. Fall asleep at night listening to the rushing waters of Big Timber Creek located just outside your door. Watch the sunset over the Crazy Mountains up the canyon from the floor to ceiling picture windows. Sip your coffee on the covered porch facing Big Timber creek as you watch the deer and the birds in their natural habitat.

Dogs are considered with owner approval and a fee. Please inform us at the time of booking of the number and age/weight/breed of the dog(s) you are planning to bring.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION: Creekside Cabin is a true mountain getaway with amazing views of the Crazies and private frontage on Big Timber Creek; all on 160 acres of land. Enjoy all the comforts of home (plus a hot tub!) while experiencing everything Montana's wild country has to offer. World-class hiking is just down the road at the Half Moon trailhead offering trails to sparkling mountain lakes at the bases of the highest peaks in the range. This is also a wildlife rich area; you might wake up to a moose looking through your window! Two extra twin mattresses are available to sleep additional guests.

BEDROOMS AND BATHS: There is one bedroom with a queen bed. The living room has a pull-out sofa and this room can be cordoned off with built-in doors to make a second bedroom. The full bathroom has a combination tub/shower.

KITCHEN AND DINING: This open and functional kitchen has everything you need: fridge, stove, oven, dishwasher, and microwave, along with all of the essential utensils, pots, and pans for cooking a delicious meal. The custom log dining table seats 6 comfortably.

LIVING ROOM: Windows on every wall bring in tons of natural light and let you see everything that makes this location truly special. Enjoy views of the Crazies while taking in the warmth of the infrared fireplace . There is a 43" Smart TV that allows you to use your personal streaming accounts after a long day in the woods.

TOWN/AIRPORT: The cabin is located approximately 20 miles northwest of Big Timber. The nearest commercial airports are both about a 90 mile drive to either Bozeman International Airport or Billings-Logan International Airport.

ACTIVITES NEARBY: The possibilities are endless! There is approximately 2 miles of winding trail, 5-foot wide, through the forest and brush on the property available summer and winter (snowshoes provided). Fishing is right outside of your door on Big Timber Creek. Private land surrounds the majority of this cold mountain stream, making it nearly untouched by the anglers that flock to the Yellowstone region. Excellent hiking into the lake studded high country of the Crazies is just 4 miles down the road. The quaint small town of Big Timber is about 20 miles away with restaurants and shopping. Last but not least, simply relax and unwind on the porch taking in the sounds of the creek and the incredible dark, starry skies.

Amazing Property in the Crazy Mountains
We had an extraordinary time staying in the Creekside Cabin. You literally are right down the road from an exceptional hiking area in a very quiet area. The cottage is stocked with everything you might need. The property has lots of land and the access to Timber Creek is excellent. We were a little surprised with the fact that there are a few other cabins on the property, but it was still had a very private/remote feel. Make sure you stop at the IGA in town for groceries on your way in because it does not stay open late. Big Timber is an interesting place to explore. Be prepared to drive on some winding gravel roads and see some amazing views.

Great Mountain Stay
Stayed for our honeymoon. Great time near the mountains and creek. Wish neighbors weren’t as close but we knew going in it wasn’t super secluded.

Nice, clean cabin but not secluded as stated in description
We are Montanans who were looking specifically for a secluded little cabin for a getaway. The drive was totally beautiful, but we were bummed when we drove up to three cabins all together. I even went back to the listing description to see if I missed anything. I think this would be a great spot if three families/ friends were getting together or if you don’t mind a camp/communal type experience. The cabin was nice, clean and as shown in pictures. Unfortunately, I had to give a not stellar rating since the “secluded” was inaccurate. No mention of the other two cabins whereas other listings I read mentioned if other buildings or rentals were on site. For this trip specifically, I would have chosen something else had I known. Otherwise, the small creek outside the cabin was fun for my littles to play and the river was a beautiful 5 min or so walk away. The hot tub was wonderful.

Perfection!
What a great stay! Location is remote, quiet, and beautiful. Cabin has everything you need, was very clean, and comfy. Even though there are 2 other cabins nearby, they are pretty much out of view and we never saw or heard our neighboring guests. A lot of hiking opportunities nearby- Big Timber Creek Falls: 10/10 :)
