About this property

Sound view beach retreat with the best of Island Life! Pets/Family welcome!

Enjoy an "Endless Summer" in this beautiful, inviting 3 bedroom retreat in the heart of Salter Path on Emerald Isle. Relax on the deck with a hypnotizing elevated 3rd row view of Bogue Sound after a day of fun on the ocean beach, which is just a short walk away. Walk to the nearby restaurants, fish market, ice cream stand, and shops, or take a quick drive to Emerald Isle and Swansboro to the south or Atlantic Beach and Morehead City to the north. Visits to the NC Aquarium at Pine Knoll Shores, the fishing piers at Bogue Sound or Atlantic Beach, Fort Macon and much more are just a short drive away. Just off the end of the driveway, the marina near the end of the driveway offers a place to launch your kayak (bring your own or use one of the house kayaks) onto Bogue Sound, as well as the opportunity to rent boats or charter a fishing trip (coming soon!). Nearby nature trails and nature reserves will satisfy nature lovers. Relax on the deck, swing in the hammock, laugh together by the fire pit, or play in the adjacent park. You can do it all or do nothing at all! Come enjoy the best of what the Crystal Coast has to offer.

Some details:
We are honored to offer you our future home as a place of family fun or individual respite, or some of both. A peaceful retreat in the middle of the island of Emerald Isle, you can be as busy or relaxed as you want. We want this to be a place you come back to again and again.

We want to be THE destination for you and your family! For those with little ones, WELCOME! There is the beautiful Salter Path park playground right next door, with a picnic shelter and basketball court. To walk to the beach, just go through the park entrance and walk up the street. It's about a 5-minute brisk walk, or a 10-minute stroll. (You can also easily drive to the lot there.) See the file "Directions to the Beach" for a picture that shows exactly where to go.

In the guest closet downstairs (the one right under the kitchen), there are plenty of beach toys and fun stuff for everyone- beach toys, fishing poles, boogie boards, kayak paddles, life jackets, and a full-sized fridge/freezer for your downstairs needs. The area under the house is a brand-new patio with a picnic table, hammock, hammock chair, charcoal grill, and a fire pit. Wood for the fire pit is available at most of the grocery stores- you'll want to plan to pick that up. There is a pack of fire starters and a lighter stick in the guest closet. We've added some fun beach games, and a pack-n-play for your family to use wherever you might need while you're here.

The padlock on the guest closet has the code 3-3-3. It is there at a guest's suggestion, to give you a place to keep your stuff locked while your way from the house (any extra gear that you may have brought with you). It also helps protect the closet stuff from anyone off-property from monkeying with it. I will note that the area is very safe- that closet was unlocked for nearly 2 years, and we never had an issue. This added security does make everyone feel safer though.

We're also added a bunch of kids' toys and games so your kids will have something fun to do as soon as they arrive, to help while you unpack. Check the pictures for updated pics of this.

On the decks, we've added a bunch of cool "retro" wicker furniture, from the table to the love seats and side chairs. We've also added some chairs for the upper deck. You can move them around the property for wherever you need them most- just put them back when you leave. The sound-side docks have a great view of Bogue Sound- check the pics for examples. You can sit and watch the sun come up, watch the boats go by, or just enjoy the whole experience! On the back deck off the upper bedroom, you can watch the park, and even hear the ocean sounds on the breeze in the quiet of the evening.

We have 3 bedrooms (1 King, 2 Queen beds) plus a pull-out sleeper sofa, so there's a place for everyone. One set of clean bed linens is provided for each bed, plus there's a spare Queen mattress pad in the downstairs bedroom closet and a spare King mattress pad in the Master bedroom closet. Each bedroom has its own TV hooked up to Spectrum cable with something like 150 channels. They are smart TV's, so you can also use your favorite streaming services. We have Prime Video, Disney+, and Paramount+ pre-installed. The house has Wi-fi available for all the rooms, too. The bedrooms upstairs also both have private decks outside for the quiet cup of morning coffee or to sit and watch the stars. The Master bedroom has a gorgeous view of the sound.

In the kitchen, there is a basket of stuff you may have forgotten- coffee, sweetener, tooth brushes, coffee, soaps, etc. We also stock the bathrooms with a "starter" set of handsoad and toilet paper. When we rented places, they didn't provide this, and we always needed it when we first got there. We don't want you to get caught short! So there's enough there to get your through until you make that grocery store run and get the brands you prefer. It is a starter set though- so you'll want to be ready to pick up what you need. The laundry closet is just off the kitchen by the full bathroom, and has a stacked washer-drier combo for your convenience.

Also, be sure to read through the house rules. They're on here, and posted on the fridge. We are pet friendly, which that details. We also have check-in, midweek trash, and check-out instructions there. We are smoke-free and ask that you not host parties. Be neighborly- we have great neighbors and they are welcoming, so please be courteous to them as well. You can read all about that there.

Also in the kitchen, we have updated the things offered there. A brand-new fridge-freezer, a new dishwasher, and a new stove round out a full-service kitchen of oven, stove-top, microwave, coffee makers (individual and pots), and a fully stocked set of plates, silverware, and cooking pots and pans.

The pack-n-playthat's in the guest beach closet can be used indoors here wherever you need.

We have upgraded our kitchen/dining/living room first-floor flooring to make it even more welcoming! We replaced the old linoleum and carpet with brand-new laminate flooring, now basically wall-to-wall. We thought this would make it easier for the house to stay fresh and clean from the sand, dogs, and family traffic the carpet was seeing. We've also added retractable kid/doggie gates to make the home even safer for your visit!

Nearby, all within walking distance, is the Bogue Sound, Homer's Point Marina, the Anchor Drafthouse and Pizzeria, the Crab Shack, Scoops Ice Cream, Willis Seafood Market, and Salter Path United Methodist Church. The parking lot for those businesses is literally just a few hundred yards from the driveway. In the summer, call ahead to get your name on the waiting lists for the restaurants- then chill on the deck until it is time to head over. (The Crab Shack has an app where you can track where you are in the line, for instance.)

Just up the main street (Rt. 58), there is to the right a Dollar General, the Fire and Police Department for Indian Beach/Salter Path, a gas station/convenience store Save-A-Shop (with some fishing supplies), and Beach Wheels where you can rent strollers and bikes- they'll even deliver it right to the house. The beach access is right across the street from there.

The Billfish Grill & Bar just around the corner sometimes has live music, as does Homer's Point Marina's new Pub.

There's plenty of other fun stuff to discover all over the island. At the house is a book full of ideas, plus a guest book full of "it worked for us" ideas from other guests like yourself. Or just come and chill- the house is a great place to relax and slow down, too!

Overall, we offer our house to you with arms wide open. We want you to have a blast, and come back time after time to make memories with the people you love, or come and find a place of great solitude. To help that happen, we offer a 5% "returning guest" discount on any future stays less than one month in length. We are still relatively new owners, so any suggestions or ideas for how we can improve are most welcome. We keep trying to improve the house and amenities, and your feedback is crucial to that. For instance, that's why we added more kids' stuff, new pet/kid gates on the deck & stairs, added a pack-n-play, added the shower grips, made the fire extinguisher more accessible, etc., - many of those coming from guests' suggestions. Contact us at any time- before, during, or after your stay. When you call, you won't be dealing with some call center- you'll be dealing with us directly. (Or, if you prefer, VRBO is also always available and they reach us also.) Our goal is to provide you with a 5-star beach town experience of beauty and hospitality. Come and stay with us!

RETURNING GUEST DISCOUNT!
We offer a 5% discount to the base rent for any returning guest on any returning stay! We want to be your go-to place to make memories FOR YEARS to come!!

Great place to stay
We really enjoyed our stay. Paul was very responsive and accommodating as a host. The house was very clean and had a beautiful view of the sound. My daughter loved having some games and small toys at the house. She learned to play Chutes and Ladders while there! We also enjoyed being next to a park and an easy walk from restaurants and the beach.

Second Visit
This was our second visit to this property and we had a great time. We love being able to bring our Golden Retriever with us on vacation and this time we had our 6 month old with us. We definitely plan on going again and look forward to making full use of the playground when we come back.

About the host

Our family has always loved coming to the beach, sharing a spot to call home for some time away, and making memories together. We'd often dreamt about not only taking a trip, but being the ones who provided the launch pad for such memorable experiences. We'd seen things we loved, and some things we thought we'd do differently if we were owners, and in 2021, we found the perfect opportunity to bring these dreams to reality. Now our hope is that this special home will help bring dreams to reality for our guests. We want this to feel like the perfect getaway, a place to do as much or as little as you want. A place to reconnect. A place to breathe in the island air, and leave all the stress behind. We want this "Endless Summer" to be your go-to beach retreat for you or your family.

We are always working to make your stay great. We make improvements based on our guest recommendations often. We also try to add the little touches that make your stay both memorable and easy. On our Facebook page (search for Endless Summer Salter Path) you can see some of the latest news about the home, or our latest improvements. Also, during or after your stay, feel free to offer any suggestions for improvements, we take those very seriously.

Because we want to be a place you come back to time after time, returning guests receive a 5% discount for any future visit, including being an additional discount even when we're offering other discounts or specials. We want to host you!

Come and see what a special getaway awaits you at "Endless Summer"! Welcome!!

Why they chose this property

This property has it all. It is a quiet retreat in the middle of the island of Emerald Isle. So there's plenty to do, if that's your thing. Or do nothing. Or a good mix of both. The house is inviting, warm and relaxing. And a walk away from the beach and the sound. You can hit the nearby sound access for kayaking (which our family loves to do), or any number of water activities. Or walk across the adjacent park to hit the beach (which we also love). Restaurants and shops are also just a short walk away. Or drive just minutes to all kinds of fun for whatever you're looking for. The Aquarium is just up the road. And because Salter Path is in the middle of the island, everything from Atlantic Beach, Morehead City and Beaufort to the north, to Emerald Isle and Swansboro to the south is all just moments away: beaches, downtown waterfronts, restaurants, charter fishing, museums and historical sites, pier fishing, nightlife, unique shopping, and much, much more is all just a short drive away.

And even with all these options so close by, this home is nestled in a quiet area of the quaint village of Salter Path. It really is a retreat. Enjoy the peace and quiet this slice of paradise can offer.

What makes this property unique

Close to whatever you want to do. Also a quiet place so you can relax and do nothing if you wish. Pet friendly. A great place for families, with the Salter Path Park right out the back of the yard. And deck views of the sound, with ocean breezes, are addictive. It's the best of island life!
