Siolim is situated ~7 kms from Mapusa around the river Chapora and about an hours drive, 47kms from the Goa airport. A pristine riverside lying in close proximity to beaches like Ashwen, Morjim, Anjuna and Vagatur, making it idyllic and home to some of the most exclusive pubs and restaurants. A vist to Goa is not complete without a drive down to the famous Siolim beach. Siolim, the name translates to an area that once probably housed many rare wildlife species in the hills, making it a perfect nature and religions destination. It is also famous for it's Churches, Chapels, historical forts and musicians like the internationally renowned Remo Fernandes. It depicts a quintessential heritage Goa village and is a hotspot for cultural traditions, sea food, handycrafts and ofcourse Feni- a unique Goan alcoholic drink brewed from cashews or coconuts. The famous Siolim bazaar is a typicall rural happening as the village folk bring their rustic produce and traditional sweets for sale.
