About this property

The "Quinn" tessential Railfan Accommodations

The ultimate Railfan experience near Tehachapi Loop! Watch UP & BNSF trains from the comfort of the room or from the private front porch!

Our guest house is your amazing getaway for as long as you want it. Bedroom 1 has a Queen size Bed, TV, desk and computer chair, reading chair, refrigerator/freezer, coffee maker, microwave and private bathroom. Bedroom 2 has a Queen Size bed, Dresser, Desk with Computer chair, Refrigerator, Table and Chairs, and reading Chair. Watch Trains circle the loop on Youtube from the live loop camera. Then see them in person as they come through tunnel 10.

The space
There is an average of 35-40 trains day and night so please be aware that your sleep may be interrupted if you are a light sleeper. We have crystal clear well water and are on a septic system. Please be aware our driveway is dirt and gravel. Please drive slow and follow the signage.

Guest access
You will have your own private patio area. A Table and 4 chairs are located on the patio. You are welcome to explore the property and if you would like to see inside the caboose on the property let us know and we can unlock it for you.

Other things to note
We live in a rural area and wifi can be unreliable. Keene is at 3,158 ft. We are subject to winter weather conditions. Monday’s are usually track maintenance days so train traffic may be lighter. They are currently doing section track work and may effect train traffic. We have animals/insects that call this place home. They may include: Bobcats, mountain lions, raccoons, skunks, rattlesnakes etc

Visit the Tehachapi Loop and view the same train cross over itself as it climbs in elevation. Daily train meets and passes. Great photo opportunities. This property is on 20 Acres and about 15 minutes outside of town. No city lights allow for an awesome view of stars. Bring your telescopes!

Due to a medical condition that the host has, he may not be able to Host Guests with Service Animals.

If you make an inquiry to book please pay with in 24 hours. We will only block off the listing for 24 hours.

A Rail Fan Mecca
A perfect location and great accommodations. Comfy queen bed, hot coffee, microwave, frigid, and gas BBQ, if so inclined. The hosts provide a great orientation and offer a deep history of the property. In addition to suggestions nearby sites well worth the visit. It’s a great opportunity to learn California railroad history and see for 1st hand just how important early California commerce was, and still is. A great family experience. 5 stars

About the host

I have been coming up to Tehachapi Loop since I was 16 years old. When I had a chance to buy this property I jumped at the chance. My wife & I used to live in Riverside County. We love the slow paced country life. Getting a chance to meet so many wonderful travelers/vacationers is a pleasure.

Why they chose this property

There is 20 Acres of Privacy. Being only 15 minutes from town is the best of both worlds. We have many Railroad Artifacts on the property including a Museum Caboose.

What makes this property unique

The best benefit is seeing trains on a daily basis. Having the Tehachapi Loop so close is also an added Benefit.
