Ask us about our pontoon boat option. You couldn’t be closer to the water! At our cozy cottage near Angola, IN, you can just walk across the lawn to dip your toes in Crooked Lake. The cottage has 75 feet of waterfront and a 35- foot private dock. We offer free use of a shared paddleboat, canoe, and rowboat, complete with life preservers. You are also welcome to dock your own boat on our pier. For even more family fun, talk with us about our available 20-foot, 11-person pontoon boat with a 50 hp motor and lots of comfortable seating. The pontoon would provide your family with an exciting base for cruising, lounging, fishing, and socializing.

Our 900 square foot cottage is conveniently located off I-69 and I-80/90 toll road on 880-acre Crooked Lake with 3 basins and a 2-mile water ski run complete with slalom course. A large sand bar serves as a fun gathering place. The lake also offers a large public beach and playground (4-H Park) which provides another place for your kids to swim, play and make vacation friends
The cottage is on a peaceful dead-end street with no traffic, ideal for families with children. A huge back lot offers plenty of dedicated parking for cars and boat trailers, with space for turnarounds. The large grassy yard includes patios front and back. Picnic tables, umbrellas, chairs for relaxing, gas smoker grill, two-person swing, a small sandy beach, and a fire pit great for enjoying evening bonfires.
Our cozy, inviting cottage sleeps 6 in two bedrooms: Queen bed in one; 2 bunk beds in the second, each with TVs. The bathroom has a shower, sink and toilet. The living and dining areas include dining table/chairs and comfortable couches, air conditioner and space heater. Wireless high-speed WI-FI and outlets for charging your devices. In the living area there is a 55-inch TV, a DVD and Roku and for streaming. The well-stocked kitchen includes an oven/range, refrigerator/freezer, microwave, coffee maker, Keurig, dishware, and utensils. Selection of board games. Very clean.
Lots to Do—on the Land and the Lake!
Your kids will fill up their days playing on our small sand beach, hiking, swimming, exploring the area, catching frogs and fish, and trying out the canoe, rowboat, and paddleboat we share with the cottage next door. You can join your kids’ activities or just relax with a cup of coffee, read and watch swans glide by on the lake. Fish right off our dock or from the boats. Plentiful bass, bluegill, crappie, and pike. Use your powerboat or our pontoon boat for exploring the rest of Crooked Lake, tubing, cruising over to the public 4-H beach and playground and then hanging out at the sand bar. Love to waterski? Enjoy skimming across a 2-mile ski run that is calm enough for barefoot skiing and includes a slalom course! At the end of day, enjoy a sunset cruise before heading back to the cottage. Watch the spectacular sunsets, then gather around a roaring bonfire in the fire pit to enjoy roasting marshmallows and telling stories.
Round Out Your Stay with Nearby Attractions & Activities
Visit Angola, with its small-town atmosphere. You’ll find a movie theater, antique and other stores, and ice cream parlors! Golfers can enjoy a round at local golf courses such as Zollner, Lake James, Glendarin Hills, and Bledsoe’s. If you enjoy wine tasting, try Satek Winery and Biata Winery & Vineyard in nearby Fremont. Take your kids to the exciting Wild Winds Buffalo Preserve for one of its hourly tours of their herd of 250 wild buffalo. Designed especially for family entertainment, visit the local Angola Motorsport Speedway with its “Thunder Dome.” Drive a bit north to visit Pokagon State Park its opportunities for hiking, swimming, fishing, boating, and birdwatching. [[I checked a found that this speedway is open, but could not really get any information about whether or not the Thunder Dome is still open]]
Going a bit farther afield—Classic car fans can take a quick 30-min drive south to Auburn, IN, to visit the Auburn, Cord Duesenberg Museum and the NATMUS Museum which display cars from the 1900’s through post-WWII eras. Shopping and culture fans can head about 40 minutes west to visit the Amish community of Shipshewana, IN, with the 3rd largest Amish population in the US. It offers lots of antiquing and boasts the “Largest Outdoor Flea Market in the Midwest”. Nearby your kids will enjoy safari-style wagon rides to see domestic/exotic animals at the Dutch Creek Animal Farm.
