About this property

Cozy cottage on Big Wolf Lake with beautiful sunset views. Enjoy getting away to Grey Wolf Cottage as a couple or a family. Whether you looking for time on the lake or you are showing your horse at Waterloo State Park, in town for a U of M (or MSU) football game or event at MIS you are close. Kayaks available. Grey Wolf is a vintage Pure Michigan lake house retreat with fast Wi-Fi and everything you need to enjoy your stay. Top off each night with a lake shore campfire in the outdoor fire pit.

Lake dock is put out mid-May before Memorial Day weekend and taken up mid-September after labor day. If booking outside of this time frame, contact ahead to check for dock status. Boat launch is very close by.

Summer Guests: FYI - The Wolf Lake Ski Club has been given permission to use the Grey Wolf dock for their weekly practice sessions. WLSC practices from approx. 6pm to dark on Sunday evenings and the team parks in the yard. Watch and enjoy their moves! Guests booking around Labor Day may see a final show.

Great location

We loved the lake and location of this property was very convenient. House was clean and accommodated our family well. Optional pontoon rental on the property would have been a great addition.

Lovely cottage

Our group included 7 adults and one toddler. The cottage was immaculate, and check-in was easy. The lake is lovely, and pretty peaceful and quiet. We enjoyed swimming and kayaking in the lake, although we were the only ones we saw doing both of those things. Mostly, people were out on the lake in pontoon boats or on jet skis. Our hosts were very responsive about answering questions. It was a great place to stay!

Family get away with adult children

Kelly’s house was very warm and welcoming. She included a toiletries basket in each bedroom. The beds were comfortable. For a fee she included her 3 kayaks. The lake was knee to hip deep for a long distance and clear enough to see the bottom. It was great for playing water sports with the kids. It would also be great for younger kids since it’s so shallow. We would definitely return again.

Grey Wolf Cottage

The cottage worked out perfect for our trip. We had 5 adults, me, my husband and our 3 children. The lake was beautiful and we were able to rent a boat at the marina across the street. Loved sitting on the porch or around the firepit in the evenings. The kitchen was well stocked and all the bedrooms had baskets with toiletries. We had a great stay!

Amazing lakefront property. So many thoughtful touches - toiletry kits, beach towels, bug spray, Sunscreen - I could go on. Sandy beach, clean lake, good fishing. We rented a pontoon from butterfields which was so fun and close. Plenty of room on the property. Would visit again and again.

Rest and Relaxation

The house was very clean and had a nice beginning stock of things to get you started. The property manager was very nice and attentive. My husband and I got to have a relaxed and fun vacation with our adult children. We all really enjoyed this vacation home.

"Mom, can we live here?"

After reading some reviews that mentioned "cozy," I thought it might be a small place. Walking in, we were delighted. There is plenty of space, and all the rooms are family size (apart from the main floor 1/2 bath). The bedrooms are large and the beds comfortable. We found the kitchen well equipped and were even left a few delightful surprises. The vast amount of windows helped us feel like we were outside the entire time (or not, if we closed the curtains). Porches facing different directions provide sunshine, shade, or quiet time as one wishes. The beach is sandy and shallow so our littles could swim freely and safely, and the yard gave us plenty of room to move around. The water skiers were SO polite, and provided great dinner time entertainment on Sunday evening. We experienced such a sense of peace even just looking at the water. And the sunsets were spectacular.

Wonderful lake side cottage

What a beautiful Michigan vintage cottage!! Everything was so clean and the description of the property was accurate. A fabulous place to have a family gathering. So much room inside and out. The 'host' was very thorough in the directions to the cottage as well as entry. Very thoughtful 'extras' throughout the house. I would highly recommend this house! Thank you!

Perfect cottage getaway

Kelley, the owner was fantastic. When we arrived there were some waters as well as a welcome sign. Very nice touch. Plenty of towels, blankets, sundries and supplies. The view was superb and the cottage is setup in a way for guests to immediately feel welcome and at home. Will come again.
